Golden Ear Award 2025 - The Absolute Sound Magazine

"Profound and Sustainable Bass, Natural Mids, and Smooth, Clear Heights"
Dynaudio's two-and-a-half-way Evoke 30 floorstanding speakers strike the balance between compactness and restraint, and unabashed, wide-eyed enthusiasm for music.
At the head of the table is the all-new Cerotar 1.1" precision-coated soft-dome tweeter. And it's one of our most sophisticated yet. Dynaudio's engineers plundered some of its most celebrated technologies – including ingenious airflow systems from the award-winning Esotar Forty anniversary tweeter, the precision coating found on the Contour range and the Hexis from the new Confidence series (more on that in a bit) – and combined them into a new design specifically for the Evoke family.
The Cerotar is driven by a newly-designed strontium carbonate Ferrite+ ceramic magnet system and features the Confidence's headline-grabbing Hexis inner dome. This ingenious little dimpled device sits right behind the soft tweeter diaphragm and reduces unwanted resonances while smoothing out the overall frequency response. The result is sweeter treble, better detail and even more clarity – and that means you can listen into the wee hours of the morning without fatigue.
Award-Winning Performance
The Evoke 30 won a Golden Ear Award 2025 from The Absolute Sound magazine, which reports, "The Evoke 30, in both size and output, makes for a near-ideal small room loudspeaker. Easy on the eyes, it’s also an exemplar of low-key traditional elegance, with seamless cabinetry, softly radiused corners, and tapering side panels."
"With so much musical 'rightness' on tap, the Evoke 30’s performance just naturally puts listeners at ease. It proved an all-around appealing and musical effort from an iconic company that knows the audiophile landscape."
It also received a Best Buy Award from avsforum.com. "Everything the Dynaudio holds dear about the creation of speakers is still present in every facet of the Evoke 30’s performance. It hits hard and fast and finds details in material you’d swear blind you knew every note of. In building something utterly tractable, Dynaudio has lost nothing of what it has spent over forty years trying to perfect. The Evoke 30 is a phenomenal all rounder and an easy Best Buy."
"Highly Audiophile Character"
"Until now I firmly believed that the Evoke 10 is the hero of this duo, but now I'm but so sure anymore. Because the Evoke 30 not only takes over the highly audiophile character of its compact sister and completes it, but also adds to it," reports Matthias Böde, Germany's STEREO magazine. The review goes on to prarise Evoke 30's "generously sized soundstage, perfectly ordered and detached from the speaker cabinet," plus the "profound and sustainable bass, natural mids, and smooth, clear heights."
"Virtues That Will Win Many Friends"
"It possesses virtues that will win many friends: sensible dimensions, immaculate build, and attractive proportions, even before they play a note, which will endear them to many," raves Ed Selley, hi-fi+ magazine, April 16, 2025. "It does all this while displaying every sonic virtue that Dynaudio holds dear with no perceivable compromise… Dynaudio has accomplished this with bells on, and the Evoke 30 should be at the top of any audition list."
"The Evoke 30 demonstrates that Dynaudio can create moderately priced speakers that not only look good but also sound exceptional. The Evoke 30s make for a compelling choice in the moderately priced floor stander market well worth a listen," observes Dean Cacioppo, trackingangle.com, July 20, 2024.
The Lowdown on Woofers
Evoke 30's twin 5.5" Esotec+ mid/bass drivers are made from MSP (Magnesium Silicate Polymer), a material we've been using for our woofer diaphragms since Dynaudio started back in 1977. It provides exactly the right combination of lightness, stiffness and damping to balance the needs of powerful yet precise bass performance with clear, detailed midrange.
Each speaker cone is made from a single piece of MSP. This gives them exactly the right amount of rigidity – and means far less physical distortion when they're playing. It also gives a super-solid physical connection to the glass-fiber voice-coil former on the back (it's glued directly under the Balance Ribs you'll see around the center), which means more of the coil's motion energy is transferred to the diaphragm.
Evoke 30's 2" voice-coils are made from aluminum, which provides the correct mix of weight and winding height to balance bass and midrange frequencies. It gives optimum moving mass while retaining the right grip of midrange performance for a perfectly integrated performance.
Nomex spiders keep everything centered and moving the way it should, while the new Contour-derived surround allows a longer throw ratio for greater punch. And, like the Cerotar tweeter, Evoke 30's woofers are both driven by ceramic Ferrite+ magnets for greater control, finesse and power.
In non-speaker-designer language, that means you'll hear your music the way it was meant to be heard. No rough edges, nothing standing out where it shouldn't – and nothing relegated to a supporting act when it should be headlining.
"Truthfulness and Clarity"
"They can play loudly when required, and deliver their core frequency range with truthfulness and clarity," reports i>10audio.com, April 10, 2020.
"As we have come to expect from Dynaudio over several decades, their speakers are high performance, showcasing new technologies that are grounded in good engineering and design. The Evoke 30 loudspeakers from Dynaudio are recommended for your consideration."
Timeless Danish Design
Evoke has been created for real life. The designers' priority was to make the whole family look great in any listening environment. They took models and prototypes home and sat with them, went and scoured interior-design stores and specialist furniture retailers and even sniffed around real houses to gain inspiration.
Evoke 30 is available in four fantastic finishes. Black High Gloss and White High Gloss both use a new lacquering technique that gives a gloriously deep, glass-like look. At the other end of the tactile spectrum are the lovely, natural open veneers of Walnut Wood and Blonde Wood.
The result is an instant classic. It's modern, retro, timeless and cutting-edge all at once. It's the kind of speaker your kids will eye-up expectantly when they're leaving for university. We'll forgive you for hanging on to them yourself instead. We would…
