    "Price/Performance Value of the Decade"

The European Audio Team (EAT) is very proud to announce its second cartridge creation, after the highly acclaimed and successful Yosegi MC cartridge. EAT's new Jo No.5 MC cartridge is an elegant masterpiece, both sonically as well as visually.

"At $1295, it challenges my favorite $3,500 cartridge reference for best overall definition, imaging, and musicality," reports Robert Levi in his July 18, 2018 review for positive-feedback.com. "I cannot even suggest a cartridge at Jo’s price that comes close in overall performance."

"The Jo No 5 will bring a lump to your throat and send a shiver down your spine when Billie [Holiday] sings 'I’m a Fool to Want You,'" notes Alan Sircom, HiFi+ magazine, Issue 167.

"Impeccably Balanced, Wholly Musical and a True Delight"

"The Jo No. 5 is impeccably balanced, wholly musical and a true delight," raves Ken Kessler, Hi-Fi News magazine, December 1, 2018. "It is superbly neutral and mature, despite physical appearance suggesting a show-off. It may lack the ultimate finesse of a top Lyra or Koetsu cartridge, but at $1199, it delivers 90% of their performance for 20% of the cost. And that's spelled B-A-R-G-A-I-N."

"The No. 5 manages to be both rich sounding and exciting," observes Michael Fremer, analogplanet.com, August 16, 2018. "Yes, you can get faster and leaner performance elsewhere and for that matter, warmer and softer too. I found the E.A.T. Jo No. 5 to provide an ideal balance between the two."

"Best I've Heard in a Long Time"

Jo No. 5 has a nude fine line stylus. The cartridge body and stylus guard are made of polyamide ceramic and are produced by an additive manufacturing process called Selective Laser Sintering (SLS). This process sinters thin layers of power with a laser to build the final structure.

The Jo No. 5 comes in unmistakable mint green color and features the truthful and immersive sound that is the signature of all EAT products.

"The EAT Jo No.5 MC Cartridge is the best overall performing MC cartridge I have heard in a long time, and the current 'price/performance value' of the decade," notes Robert Levi. "It is not just a very good sounding cartridge. Jo is a cutting-edge high tech music machine enhancing the performance and erasing distortion!"

Optional Real Walnut Wood Presentation Box

As befits a true jewel of a phono cartridge, the Special Edition Version of the Jo No. 5 gives you all of the features and performance of the standard version plus a beautiful real walnut wood presentation box. It resembles a fine jewelry case, and its elegant design shows off your refined taste in vinyl playback. This box is a true testament to E.A.T. artistry – just like the Jo No. 5.

"This was Billie Holliday’s penultimate album, and the drink and drugs really had her in thrall. You can hear all that, and it is one of the most powerful recordings of the human voice as a result. On the Jo No 5, that power is both mesmerising and punishing to hear. It’s like you can hear her physically disintegrating with each passing moment. That’s a property that doesn’t normally happen at this level of cartridge (she just sounds drunk and that’s difficult enough, but on a really good vinyl replay system it’s so very much more poignant)."
