2024 Editors' Choice Award Winner - The absolute sound

"You Can't Go Wrong with This One"

The Triton Five floorstanding speaker from GoldenEar Technology is a larger version of the award winning Triton Seven, with greater dynamic range and even deeper bass extension – along with important refinements carried over from the Triton One development program.

As with all GoldenEar Triton Towers, the Triton Five's high-resolution sonic performance makes it ideal for use in two channel systems of the highest quality, as well as complete multi-channel surround music and home theater systems.

"I Marveled at How Great It Sounded"

"You can't go wrong with this one," reports rent Butterworth, hometheaterreview.com, October 31, 2020. "The Triton Five is an excellent speaker that's well worth its price...and that really does work well for any conceivable application you might have for a tower speaker. Every time I listened to it, I marveled at how great it sounded with all the music I threw at it."

"A pair of Triton Fives could be worth several times [their] price - especially if you take care to audition them with a range of amplifiers," notes Herb Reichert, in Stereophile magazine. "Recommended, particularly for lovers of jazz, classical, and avant-garde music."

"They absolutely rock the speaker world's foundation to the core … delivering the kind of musical bliss some pay upwards of $10,000 for," raves Caleb Denison of Digital Trends.

    Unique Cabinet Shape

The Five's unique cabinet shape is both acoustically purposeful as well as strikingly attractive. Its narrow front baffle and stylish rearward rake, in conjunction with the complex crossover, both aligns the driver array precisely for a coherent wave-launch directed at ear level at the listening position, as well as results in non-parallel front and rear baffles for better control of internal standing waves.

The non-parallel side cabinet walls and slanted top provide the same acoustical performance benefit, as well as looking great. The precise and totally boxless imaging characteristics are further enhanced by the narrow front baffle, as well as the diffractionless designer grille cloth sock which adds additional sheer damping to the cabinet. In addition, the beautifully sculpted piano-gloss black base adds significantly to the dynamic stability.

    'Driven' to Excel

A D'Appolito array of two 6″ long-throw midrange/bass drivers surround the same High Velocity Folded Ribbon AMT Tweeter used in all the Triton Towers. The Five incorporates FOUR side-mounted, opposing, inertially-balanced planar back-wave-driven radiators, located on either side of the cabinet down near the floor for optimum coupling to the room.

The spiderleg cast-basket bass/ midrange drivers, newly developed at Goldenear's Arnprior, Canada engineering facility, have been specifically designed for exceptionally long-throw for tremendous dynamic range and extra-ordinarily deep bass response.

The Fives will deliver exceptional performance with moderately priced receivers, while also allowing you to appreciate the subtle qualities of the world's finest audio components.

Setting New Performance and Value Standards

The Triton Five brings award winning Triton Series performance into a more compact size and even more affordable price range. Triton Towers have set new performance and value standards all around the world. The Triton Five passive tower follows in this auspicious tradition.

Although the Five is a Triton without a built-in powered subwoofer, it still achieves superbly deep, subwoofer-like impactful bass performance by combining advanced technology drivers with GoldenEar's highly evolved and sophisticated Frequency Dependent Damping bass loading technology.
