    Best Buy Award 2023 - the-ear.net

"Sets a New Benchmark for the Price Point"

The Triton Seven floorstanding from GoldenEar Technology brings Speaker-of-the-Year Award winning Triton Series tower speaker performance to a more compact size and an even more affordable price range.

Although the seven is the first Triton Tower without a built-in powered subwoofer, it still achieves superbly deep, subwoofer-like impactful bass performance by combining advanced drivers with highly evolved and sophisticated bass-loading technologies.

Mike Mettler of Sound&Vision called the Triton Seven a "real reference speaker for $1400 a pair…they'll likely become your next reference speakers, just as they've become mine."

"The Sevens Will Make You Toss Your Hair with Abandon"

"I think the Triton Sevens set a new benchmark for loudspeakers at this price point," raves the-ear.net, which honored the Sevens with its Best Buy Award. "Of course there is no shortage of competition at that price point but I am hard-pressed to think of any loudspeaker that can compete with the Triton Sevens for the money. They are great all-rounders and very easy to live with."

"For head bangers on a budget or limited in real estate, the Sevens will make you toss your hair with abandon. My ears fly the white flag of surrender numerous times at the 103 dB mark, while the speakers continue to provide a solid soundstage," reports Mark Marcantonio, TONEAudio magazine.

Tremendous Dynamic Range and Extraordinarily Deep Bass

The Triton Seven has a High-Velocity Folded Ribbon AMT Tweeter, two 5.25" high-definition cast-basket mid/bass drivers, and two 8" planar sub-bass radiators.

A complex Linkwitz/Riley crossover perfectly blends the D'Appolito Arrayed twin 5-1/4″ cast basket bass/midrange drivers specifically designed for exceptionally long-throw, for tremendous dynamic range and extraordinarily deep bass response.

These surround the same signature High Velocity Folded Ribbon AMT tweeter for high-resolution reproduction of both music and cinema. And dual side-mounted inertially-balanced, planar back-wave-driven radiators deliver impactful, superbly detailed, subwoofer-quality bass performance.

    High-Resolution Sonic Performance

The Triton Seven's high-resolution sonic performance makes it perfect for the highest quality two channel systems as well as the best multi-channel music and home theater systems.

The strikingly attractive and acoustically purposeful cabinet provides the same performance benefits, as well as looking great. The Seven's precise and totally boxless imaging characteristics are further enhanced by the narrow front baffle.

Setting the Audio World on Its War

GoldenEar's Triton Towers have set the audio world on its proverbial ear with extraordinary sound quality, elegant styling and unequalled value. They have earned an incredible series of awards and honors all around the world.

Tritons are the latest signature creation of Sandy Gross, whose Grand Prix Award winning loudspeakers have been impressing and delighting reviewers and listeners for over 40 years.

Incorporating cutting-edge technologies like High Velocity Folded Ribbon tweeters, advanced technology drivers with GoldenEar's highly evolved and sophisticated bass-loading technology, linear phase crossover networks, and inertially-balanced quadratic planar infrasonic radiators, they are, in the words of Stereophile's Robert Deutsch, "the holy grail of audio that we all seek."

"I think the Triton Sevens set a new benchmark for loudspeakers at this price point."

"Here in the UK I was genuinely taken aback. Of course there is no shortage of competition at that price point but I am hard-pressed to think of any loudspeaker that can compete with the Triton Sevens for the money. They are great all-rounders and very easy to live with. Pair them with any of the terrific amplifiers available at around the same price and your source of choice and you will have a musical companion that you will probably never outgrow."

"For head bangers on a budget or limited in real estate, the Sevens will make you toss your hair with abandon. My ears fly the white flag of surrender numerous times at the 103 dB mark, while the speakers continue to provide a solid soundstage. The instrumental layering on “Stairway to Heaven” doesn't muddy up the overall sound that the speakers present. Instead, the 5.25-inch midrange drivers create ample acoustical space without limiting the multiple instruments. Good speakers recreate the strength of individual instruments, and that is what the Sevens do consistently."
