New, Highly Anticipated Gen 2 Flagship Network Streamer
It's the highly anticipated successor to the remarkable RS150B. The HiFi Rose RS151 Gen 2 is the company's flagship network streamer that achieves groundbreaking improvements in every area. ROSE's proprietary cutting-edge technologies developed during the RD160 project, combined with the latest flagship DAC chip and premium components, deliver revolutionary advancements in audio performance.
The significantly enhanced processing power, based on a next-generation 8-core CPU, integrates seamlessly with the Full HD wide-view multi-touch display introduced in the RS130, delivering a smoother and more enjoyable playback experience. With upgrades in performance, functionality, and convenience, the RS151 sets a new standard for high-resolution audio and streaming.
The HiFi Rose RS151 builds on the RS150B with major upgrades for better sound, speed, and usability. Listed below is a brief summary of the upgrades, followed by further information on all features.
Enhanced Signal Processing
The RS150B uses the ROSE DPC™ module and Femto clock, which were absent in the RS150B. This technology dramatically reduces jitter and improves timing accuracy, delivering a cleaner, more natural sound. DSD upsampling is now supported up to DSD512, where the RS150B had none.
Upgraded DAC and Audio Performance
The new ES9039PRO DAC replaces the previous ES9038PRO, with independent 8-channel processing instead of shared circuits. This improves stereo imaging and channel separation, while the signal-to-noise ratio jumps from 121dB to 131.4dB, lowering noise for even greater clarity.
More Power, Faster Performance
The new 8-core processor is 4x faster, while RAM has doubled to 8GB, and storage has quadrupled to 32GB. Now running Android 12, the RS151 is smoother, more responsive, and more capable than ever.
Larger Display and Better Connectivity
The touchscreen has increased from 14.9” to 15.4” and now features Full HD resolution for sharper visuals. Connectivity improvements include eARC for uncompressed HDMI audio, Trigger In/Out for external device control, and Bluetooth 5.4 with aptX for better wireless audio.
Smarter, More Refined Features
Unlike the RS150B, the RS151 includes PCM-to-DSD512 conversion for enhanced playback options. The IR remote control replaces Bluetooth for improved range and reliability, and COAX and AES/EBU support has been upgraded to PCM 384kHz and DSD128 for higher-resolution playback.
Advanced DAC Design with Ultra-Low Noise and Distortion
The ultra-low noise DAC stage is equipped with the flagship ESS Technology ES9039PRO DAC chip. Utilizing the 4th generation Hyperstream® technology, the ES9039PRO combines with a high-precision Femto clock to dramatically reduce jitter and enhances linearity in the digital-to-analog conversion process. The digital and analog signal paths as well as all eight channels are physically separated, ensuring that each circuit operates independently within their respective circuits.
This ensures the digital signal is transmitted to the analog stage without being affected by noise or jitter from the digital circuitry, maintaining optimal accuracy and channel separation, resulting in excellent channel separation, precise staging, and rich three-dimensionality.
Proprietary ROSE DPC™ Module
The RS151's digital stage applies the ROSE DPC™ (Digital Processing Core) module synchronizes the incoming signal with a high-precision Femto clock and aligns it into an I2S signal, minimizing jitter and maximizing signal quality.
This module is designed to ensure that all processing blocks maintain the highest accuracy of the signal. It completely separates the circuits for the user interface and GUI configuration from the digital audio signal path, thoroughly eliminating signal distortion and interference.
With this design, the RS151 ensures precise signal processing, natural and clean sound, and compatibility across various digital formats.
Elevated Sound Quality
The RS151 incorporates advanced technologies and premium components to elevate sound quality. High-precision MELF resistors and audio-grade WIMA film capacitors in the DAC, I/V conversion, and OP-AMP stages enhance linearity and minimize distortion, while precisely controlled OP-AMP bias voltage ensures a refined, natural sound. A single-point ground design eliminates grounding loops and suppresses noise, and low-ESR, high-ripple decoupling capacitors stabilize the power supply by filtering high-frequency noise.
These innovations enable the RS151 to achieve remarkable measurement values, with a SNR of 131.4dB and THD+N of 0.0002%, marking a breakthrough in signal accuracy and sonic performance.
Innovative ROSE Noise Reduction Filter
The analog stage features the ROSE NRA™ (Noise Reduction Analog) filter, designed to eliminate noise and enable flat frequency characteristics even at extremely low frequency ranges.
With this innovation, the RS151 boasts a fixed frequency response across the entire range without roll-off, faithfully and clearly reproducing the original sound information embedded in high-resolution audio sources.
Enhanced Processing with Next-Gen 8-Core CPU
The RS151 features the next-generation 8-core CPU RK3588, offering a 4x increase in information processing performance and an 8x boost in graphics performance compared to its predecessor.
In addition, the DRAM capacity has been upgraded from 4GB to 8GB, and the eMMC storage has been expanded from 8GB to 32GB, resulting in a processing speed that is more than twice as fast. This allows for smooth playback of large audio files as well as 4K high-resolution videos in HDR, while the media library capacity has grown by approximately three times, supporting over 1 million tracks.
