Super Strong and Easily Expandable
Vulcan is beautifully engineered. Its design features steel support tubes connected by threaded rods, creating a super strong and ultra-rigid rack you can assemble in minutes without the need to dip into your toolbox.
You can conveniently add or remove shelves for as many as six shelves in all as your equipment needs change. One user said about the design that adding shelves was as easy as changing a light bulb. Just flip the Vulcan upside down to add shelves from the bottom.
Most self-assembly racks aren't very rigid. Thanks to the unique design of the Vulcan, it is extremely stable and strong in addition to being acoustically neutral.
Holds a System's Worth of Components
The Vulcan rack holds a system's worth of electronic components, boasting four generously sized 23.75" wide, 18" deep, and 0.625"-thick shelves. The dense MDF shelves are wrapped in a special vinyl material in satin black, rosenut, or mocha finish that is very easy to clean and resists scratching, scuffing, and most liquids. The front and sides of the shelves are contoured for a streamlined look.
Vulcan supports up to 55 lbs. per shelf and 220 lbs. total capacity per rack. The height between shelves is 8.75" above the lower shelf and 7.25" between the top shelves. The width between shelf supports is 19.4".
Open-Air Design is Best for Your Gear
The open-air design is best for your electronics. The design maximizes component ventilation and makes it easy to install or remove gear. The four steel support tubes feature scratch-resistant and resonance-resistant black sand powder coat paint.
Innovative Cone Point Feet and Spike Design
Vulcan features innovatively designed cone point feet and spikes. The steel floor spikes go all the way through the cones and into the bottom shelf tubes for greater strength and better energy transfer from the rack into the floor. The tapered cones are made of a very durable polymer, which dampens vibrations between the steel floor spikes and the steel rack tubes.
Options include an Add-A-Shelf Kit with 7" supports, extended-height 10" support tubes for tall gear, and a matching Vulcan Amp Floor Stand.
Add a 2"-High Accessory Storage Drawer to Your Vulcan Audio Rack
We've all got a few small accessories that we like to keep close at hand to our audio gear. The Duo Storage Drawer solves the problem of storing your accessories.
The Duo Drawer has been carefully engineered for audio enthusiasts of all stripes. Measuring 2” high, 16-7/8” wide, and 11-1/8” deep, Duo is designed to hold a variety of audio-related gear, such as brushes, clamps, stylus cleaners, extra cables, remotes, USB drives, and more. Centered at the back of the drawer is a convenient 1.5” diameter hole just in case you want to use the drawer to hold a charger or power supply plugged into the wall or connected to the electronics in the shelf above. The total height of the drawer after installation is 3”.
One great feature of the Duo Accessory Drawer is that after you install it, you can use the shelf below. That's because, even with the Duo drawer in place, there’s still 4.25" of clearance on the shelf for putting other gear such as a preamp, DAC, CD players, streamer, Blu-ray player, etc.
Easy to Install – A Joy to Use
Like all Vulcan-series audio products from Pangea, Duo is easy to install without tools, and it is a joy to use. The Duo drawer can be installed under any Vulcan component shelf, including the bottom shelf at the floor.
To install, simply remove the shelf above and slide the steel shelf supports over the threaded rods. Slide the shelf in place and tighten the side tubes as you normally would when assembling the audio stand. That's all there is to it!
Vulcan Storage Drawers are constructed of high quality matte black vinyl-wrapped MDF held in place by rigid steel side supports. The drawers slide open easily, thanks to their high quality steel ball bearings and a triple slider bracket that give you access to nearly the entire depth of the drawer.
