    No-Compromise, Professional-Quality FM Tuner

The Magnum Dynalab MD 105 premium FM tuner is built off the platform of the MD 102, which had been a popular and critical favorite for years. The MD 105 improves upon the MD 102 with a selection of component upgrades throughout the unit and also adds striking aesthetics.

Built with RF components that are produced to even tighter tolerances than in the MD 102, the 105 also features capacitor upgrades and a more stable power supply, along with the same solid stage amplification stage proven through years of testing in the 102. With improving RF transmission equipment around the world, this tuner, with its distinctive audio stage, allows you to experience FM as it was intended, with the full emotion and zeal with which the music was originally recorded. It is pure, unaltered, source audio.

"Magnum Dynalab has stayed true to the path of making the best tuners it can, and its tuners are incontestably the best sounding FM devices you can buy at this time," raves Alan Sircom, Hi-Fi+ magazine, 2015.

Tunable Five Stage ANALOG Front End

A five-stage analog front end provides station separation without affecting stereo separation. Two bandwidth settings deliver optimum listening performance even under crowded band conditions. A dual AGC (automatic gain control) stage captures even weak stations and holds them, eliminating the need for a local and distant switch, altering the amount of relative gain that’s added to the incoming signal.

    Ultra-Quiet Power Supply

Tremendous attention has been paid to the MD 105's power supply. A shielded torroidal transformer reduces the noise floor, while ultra linear capacitors improve the frequency response. Coupled with a high grade aluminum chassis and upgraded from the MD 102, the device is completely shielded from stray signals and transient noises. The high-grade custom designed transformer reduces the overall noise floor of the tuner.

    Fully Shielded RF Section

Fully shielded RF section-eliminates any interference from stray signals. Precision voltage stabilizers ensure precise tuning. High-grade Kimber Hyper-Pure Copper internal wiring provides a clean, uncolored path for the signal through the audio stage of the unit.

Precision tunable matched IF (intermediate frequency) amplifiers yield consistent specifications for adjacent channel separation, alternate channel separation and low distortion. With oxygen-free copper leads that are generously gold-plated, AudioCap polypropylene dielectric capacitors help preserve the integrity of the original signal.

    Technology for Best Reception

The Auto Blend RF Circuit automatically monitors and adjusts stereo separation to maximize stereo quieting, insuring the quietest stereo signal possible. This greatly eliminates background noise. The defeatable mute eliminates any interstation noise while tuning.

A choice of two bandwidths improves the audio of received stations. When BW 1 is selected, your tuner is in the wide IF (Intermediate Frequency) bandwidth setting. This setting produces the best sound possible where strong adjacent channel interference is not an issue. When BW 2 is selected, the tuner is placed in “Narrow” bandwidth setting. This setting produces optimal sound performance where adjacent channel interference is a factor.

The Stereo/Mono control switches your tuner from Stereo to Mono and vice-versa. Switching to Mono will often clean up noisy stereo transmissions and aid in delivering quiet listening to weaker signals.

Front panel analog meters provide functional and easy-to-read multipath/signal strength measurements.

Burr Brown Op Amps with Black Gate Capacitors offer proven performance from industry leading suppliers with zero degradation over the long haul larger view.

    .093+-Thick Printed Circuit Board

The MD 105's .093"-thick printed circuit board solid footing to minimizes any residual vibration in the chassis to allow all components to operate at peak performance. Further, all contact points are generously gold plated to ensure complete signal transfer over the long haul.

    Balanced and Unbalanced Connections

Fully complimentary circuit insures a perfectly balanced signal, and exact dimensions with premium XLR outputs ensure maximum conductivity via gold plated Neutrik connectors.

New low tolerance RCA output connectors have been added made of highly ductile OFC copper, with 24-carat gold plating. This ensures solid contact for all interconnects.
