Upraded Version of a Must-Have Turntable Accessory
The new, upgraded Fozgometer V2 azimuth range meter from Musical Surroundings is a unique tool to optimize your phono cartridge azimuth for the best sound from your turntable. The new V2 model features higher sensitivity, greater accuracy, a new analog meter, and the option to use an outboard power supply as well as a 9v battery.
Getting the best phono cartridge azimuth is a key parameter for achieving optimal imaging and sound staging. To do this properly, your phono cartridge’s azimuth must be calibrated correctly. Today’s line contact and micro line styluses have a very small groove contact area as compared to elliptical styluses, thus requiring finer adjustment. Correct azimuth alignment assures the highest channel separation and best channel balance, providing outstanding sound and imaging from your vinyl records.
A Breakthrough in Azimuth Adjustment
The Fozgometer represents a breakthrough for adjusting your azimuth. The Fozgometer is a small portable device used in conjunction with a test record. It measures channel separation, channel balance, and signal direction quickly and accurately.
Readings are taken without touching the meter, leaving your hands free to work with the tonearm. The meter reads channel separation in both directions, and channel balance. The LED's indicate Left, Center, and Right signal (test tone) positions. Simple and easy, the Fozgometer is the first tool of its kind to help you maximize the performance of your cartridge!
Without the Fozgometer, you will have to “eyeball” the azimuth setting or use an oscilloscope, AC voltmeter, or computer program. These methods can be complex and time-consuming. But the Fozgometer is easy to use in addition to being highly accurate.
The original Fozgometer was introduced in 2010 and to date has sold almost 5,000 units worldwide. The new V2 continues the tradition of Musical Surroundings providing the best of everything analog since 1991.
