The Indoor Antenna That Solves Multipath Reception Problems
Indoor reception presents its own unique 'multipath' problems due to metal used in building construction. But metal isn't the only problem. Furniture, appliances, and even people in the room can adversely affect reception.
Multipath problems occur when radio signals reach the receiver via multiple paths, including direct and reflected signals, causing distorted audio, signal fading, and signal dropouts.
The Magnum Dynalab SR-100 Silver Ribbon antenna helps avoid reception problems due to multipath conditions. Its innovative design allows you to 'focus' the antenna on either the main signal or on a strong reflected signal to diminish multipath effects.
I Was Floored by the Vast Improvement
"With the SR-100 I was able to pull in stations that before were 'edged' with static but now were quite silent. I felt a greater depth to the music as this silent background now afforded me a clearer window with which to hear through, and I enjoyed each musical performance anew," observes Anthony Nicosia, Affordable$$Audio, September 2009.
"I was floored by the vast improvement this indoor antenna made and had to put my own antenna back in just to see if maybe the moon and stars were aligned differently that day and had somehow cleared the skies for superior FM reception. But no, switching back to my original antenna resulted in a poorer performance once again that allowed for some stations to drift and others to be difficult to pull in properly."
Folded Dipole FM Antennas
The folded dipole is the most common indoor antennas and is generally included with a tuner or receive. This piece of wire is bi-directional and the performance of it is affected by the angle that the signal hits the wire. There are quite a number of dipole antenna designs and they can work well in areas of strong signal strength.
The Magnum Dynalab offers the SR-100 as an excellent, indoor folded dipole – with a difference. It outperforms standard folded dipole antennas because it allows you to easily change the length and aiming of the antenna elements to eliminate multipath problems.
Easy Adjustment to Enhance Your Favorite Stations
The functional, bright-metal elements may be adjusted by simply pulling upward on the center adjustment knob. This provides a precisely-tuned element at the proper impedance for each receivable FM station on the band, thereby maximizing reception.
Shortening the elements provides omni-directional reception. Lengthening the segments lets you tune and aim the elements for best reception. The Silver Ribbon is tunable across the entire FM band, and the base rotates for easy aiming.
"Absolutely Shocked at the Improvement"
"I hooked one up for the first time today and was absolutely shocked at the improvement over the small antenna that came with the stereo. Getting at least 5 more stations now and what I was getting before is definitely clearer," reports SR-100 owner deadhead97, forum.audiogon.com, February 25, 2025.
"When I bought my Magnum Dynalab FT-101A years ago the Silver Ribbon antenna came with it. Surprisingly good results for an indoor antenna and the design allows for easy location/rotation for best signal quality," notes turnbowm, forum.audiogon.com, May 6, 2020.
Not Just for Multipath Problems
The SR-100 isn't just for FM enthusiasts who have multipath issues. It is a superb indoor FM antenna, period. It comes with a 3 ft. connection cable for easy attachment to most tuners and receivers. This 300 ohm antenna includes a 75 ohm balun for widespread equipment compatibility.
"The SR-100 FM antenna is more than affordable and was an essential accessory," reports Canada Hi-Fi magazine online.
