What Is the EverSolo Play?
The Play is EverSolo's first all-in-one streaming amplifier. It combines five things that normally live in separate boxes: a network streamer, a hi-res DAC, a stereo power amplifier, a phono stage for turntables, and a full suite of EQ and room correction tools.
Connect it to your home network and a pair of speakers. That's it. Your music — from every streaming service, from a turntable, from a TV, from a NAS drive — plays through one small, square box.

Who Is This For?
The Play is designed for a specific type of listener. You want great streaming and a big feature set. You want a clean, simple setup with fewer cables and boxes. And you want to spend $699 — not $1,500 or more.
It's at its best in small to medium-sized rooms, with bookshelf speakers, standmounts, or sensitive floorstanders. Its 60W per channel handles most speakers confidently at real-world listening volumes.
It's also an excellent choice if you want to use it as a streaming transport feeding a separate DAC. The USB digital output supports DSD512 and PCM 768kHz — so your existing DAC can do the conversion while the Play handles everything else.
The Design — Square, Compact, and Built Well
The Play is a perfect 9-inch square and 3.25 inches tall. The compact square format is popular in this product category right now — and EverSolo executes it cleanly. The body is CNC-machined aluminum alloy with a glass fascia on the front.
Weight is 3kg (6.6 lbs). Heatsink fins run along the underside to keep the electronics cool. In testing, StereoNET noted it stays only "moderately warm" even after extended listening sessions — there's no fan and no noise.
The front panel has a 5.5-inch color touchscreen and an illuminated volume knob with an RGB light ring that glows in any color you choose. The screen can display album art, VU meters, or a streaming service grid — your choice.
Streaming — Everything, Built In
Connect via Gigabit Ethernet or dual-band Wi-Fi (2.4GHz + 5GHz). The antennas are internal — no antenna sticking out the back. Roon Ready is certified. Tidal Connect, Qobuz Connect, Spotify Connect, and DLNA are all supported. AirPlay is also included.
Built-in apps cover Tidal, Qobuz, Amazon Music, Deezer, Apple Music, HighResAudio, SoundCloud, TuneIn, KKBOX, Radio Paradise, and more. The streaming platform supports 32-bit/768kHz PCM and native DSD512 via the EverSolo EOS audio engine.

The DAC — AKM AK4493SEQ
The DAC is an AKM AK4493SEQ — from AKM's Velvetsound range. Velvetsound DACs are known for a smooth, musical tonal character. The AK4493SEQ decodes up to 32-bit/768kHz PCM and native DSD512. Signal-to-noise ratio is above 109dB and distortion is below 0.0037%.
The Amplifier — 60W Class D
The built-in Class D amplifier uses a Texas Instruments power module. It delivers 60W per channel into 8Ω and 110W per channel into 4Ω. The power supply uses PFC-LLC technology for energy efficiency, and includes both inrush current and overheat protection.
StereoNET's Eric Teh summed it up well: this is "a friendly music maker for smallish rooms and/or moderate volume levels — a role that it performs very well." The Play is not designed to drive a large room at concert levels. For that kind of use, the DMP-A8 paired with the AMP-F10 is the better path.
Built-In Phono Stage — A First for EverSolo
The Play is the first EverSolo product to include a phono stage. It supports both MM (moving magnet) and MC (moving coil) cartridges. Connect a turntable directly — no separate phono preamp needed.
The MC input is set to 74dB gain with 0.5mV sensitivity. These settings are fixed — there are no adjustable loading options for the MC stage. For casual to moderate vinyl use this works well. Room Correction and EQ
Room correction is built in and fully automated. Run a sweep tone from the unit, and the Play analyzes the response, then generates FIR filters to compensate for your room's acoustics. It takes a few minutes and requires a compatible measurement microphone (not included — check EverSolo's compatibility list).
On top of room correction, you also get a 15-band graphic EQ, a 10-band parametric EQ with independent left/right adjustment, and 23 genre presets covering EDM, blues, classical, jazz, and more. Smart bass management handles the subwoofer output crossover — adjustable from 40Hz to 500Hz.
What the Play Is — and What It Isn't
The Play is a remarkable all-in-one product for its price. But it's worth being honest about its place in the lineup.
It does not have an internal SSD slot — local music storage means connecting an external USB drive. It has no XLR balanced outputs. It has no analog preamp outputs for connecting an external power amp — the speaker outputs are it. And the phono stage is good but basic; no adjustable MC loading.
If you need those things — especially preamp outputs or internal storage — the DMP-A6 Gen 2 or DMP-A8 are the right next steps. But within its mission — one box, just add speakers — the Play does an excellent job.

AKM AK4493SEQ DAC — Smooth and Musical
The AKM AK4493SEQ is from AKM's premium Velvetsound range, known for a warm, musical presentation. It decodes up to 32-bit/768kHz PCM and native DSD512. SNR is above 109dB and distortion below 0.0037%. The USB digital output sends full-resolution audio to a connected external DAC if you prefer.
60W Class D Amplifier

15-Band EQ + 10-Band Parametric EQ + 23 Genre Presets
Two levels of equalizer are built in. The graphic EQ gives 15 bands of quick adjustment. The parametric EQ gives 10 bands of precision control, with independent settings per channel. Twenty-three genre presets (EDM, blues, classical, jazz, and more) let you get a starting point instantly.
Smart Bass Management and Subwoofer Output

Does the Play have a remote control?
A remote is not included. You control the Play via the 5.5-inch touchscreen on the front or the free EverSolo Control App on your iOS or Android phone or tablet. The app mirrors the touchscreen and allows full remote control from anywhere in the room.
Can I connect a turntable directly to the Play?

No — unlike the DMP series streamers, the Play has no internal M.2 SSD slot. For local music storage, connect an external USB 3.0 hard drive or SSD to either USB 3.0 port. The Play sees it immediately and can browse and play from it.
Is the Play Roon Ready?
Yes — officially Roon Ready. Set it up as a Roon endpoint and control playback from Roon on any tablet or laptop. It also supports Tidal Connect, Qobuz Connect, and Spotify Connect for streaming direct to the unit without Roon.
How is the Play different from the EverSolo DMP-A6 Gen 2?
