What You Need to Know
What Is the SourcePoint 10 Master Edition?
The MoFi Electronics SourcePoint 10 Master Edition is a premium standmount (bookshelf) loudspeaker sold in pairs. It was designed by Andrew Jones, one of the most respected speaker engineers in the audio world, with decades of acclaimed work at KEF, TAD, Pioneer, and ELAC behind him.
What makes this speaker unusual is its concentric driver design. Instead of placing the tweeter above or below the woofer like most speakers, the SourcePoint 10 tucks a 1.25-inch soft-dome tweeter right in the center of a large 10-inch paper-pulp woofer. This arrangement means all the sound comes from a single point, which helps create a wider, more consistent sweet spot and remarkably precise stereo imaging — no matter where you’re sitting.
The “Master Edition” is an upgraded version of the original SourcePoint 10, which debuted in late 2022 to widespread critical acclaim. The Master Edition keeps the same driver and cabinet but introduces a significantly refined crossover — the internal circuit that divides the audio signal between the woofer and tweeter. It also adds a three-position tweeter-level switch on the back panel so you can adjust the treble response to match your room.
This Bundle: Speakers + Low Slung Stands
This listing includes both the SourcePoint 10 Master Edition speakers (pair) in Satin Walnut finish and MoFi’s dedicated Low Slung Speaker Stands (pair). The Low Slung Stands are purpose-built for the SourcePoint 10. Made of MDF, they position the speakers close to the ground with a subtle upward tilt that aims the drivers toward your listening position. The front height is 6.1 inches and the rear is 3.6 inches, creating the angled profile. Rubberized feet keep everything stable and protect your floors.
This is a great option if you plan to listen from a seated position on a sofa or chair and prefer a low, modern look rather than traditional tall speaker stands. The Satin Walnut finish features furniture-grade real wood veneer that is book-matched — meaning the grain patterns on both speakers mirror each other for a polished, cohesive appearance. Grey magnetic grilles are included as standard with the Walnut finish.
What Makes the Master Edition Special?
At the heart of the SourcePoint 10 is MoFi’s Twin-Drive high-flux neodymium magnet system. In simple terms, this is a specially engineered motor that uses two opposing magnets to create a perfectly symmetrical magnetic field. The benefit? Extremely low intermodulation distortion (IMD) — unwanted frequencies that can muddy your music get virtually eliminated, so instruments and voices sound cleaner and more natural.
The 10-inch woofer has nearly 2.5 times the surface area of a typical 6.5-inch driver found in most bookshelf speakers. That extra cone area means it barely needs to move to produce big, dynamic sound — and because it moves less, it creates fewer distortions and keeps the waveguide around the tweeter stable. The result is bass that rivals many floorstanding speakers, combined with the clarity and focus you expect from a quality standmount.
The Master Edition crossover uses audiophile-grade components — polypropylene film capacitors, metalized-film resistors, and air-core inductors — spread across two separate circuit boards. According to MoFi, these refinements improve integration between the woofer and tweeter, resulting in better tonal balance, more focused imaging, and lower distortion across the entire frequency range.
The three-position tweeter switch lets you set the high-frequency level to Low (good for bright rooms), Mid (for average rooms), or High (for heavily damped or treated rooms). It’s a thoughtful feature that acknowledges a simple truth: every room is different, and great speakers should adapt.
What Are Reviewers Saying?
John Atkinson reviewed the SourcePoint 10 for Stereophile (January 2023) and praised the speaker’s clean low frequencies, natural midrange, high sensitivity, easy-to-drive impedance, and ability to play at high volumes without strain. He also noted the imaging as precise and stable, with particularly well-controlled dispersion thanks to the concentric driver design. The speaker earned Stereophile’s Recommended Component status for 2025.
Ken Micallef, also writing for Stereophile (June 2023), found the SourcePoint 10 to be an exceptional all-rounder, calling its versatility across music genres and amplifier pairings remarkable. He considered it a serious contender for Loudspeaker of the Year.
Dick Olsher at The Absolute Sound awarded the SourcePoint 10 a Golden Ear Award, highlighting its massive sweet spot, seamless crossover, and outstanding dynamic range. He described the spatial presentation as one of the speaker’s greatest strengths and noted it delivers dynamic peaks with no apparent compression.
Steve Guttenberg of Audiophiliac described the speaker as vivid, alive, and exciting, with extraordinary soundstaging and impressive bass clarity.
Erin’s Audio Corner (erinsaudiocorner.com, May 2023) conducted objective measurements and concluded the SourcePoint 10 is an outstanding speaker with excellent sound power and directivity, noting it performs as a true point-source design. He did note that slight toe-out (10–15 degrees off-axis) helps optimize the top-end balance — something the Master Edition’s tweeter switch now addresses directly.
Steve Huff at stevehuffphoto.com (December 2022) described the SourcePoint 10 as delivering sound usually reserved for speakers at two to three times the price, with deep, non-boomy bass and excellent build quality.
Hifi Pig (September 2025) reviewed the Master Edition specifically, praising its balance and cohesion, its ability to convey both excitement and dynamics without listener fatigue over extended sessions, and the impressive bass impact from the 10-inch driver.
Mark Craven at Hi-Fi News described the SourcePoint 10 as a cleverly designed standmount that conjures floorstander-level bass alongside a rich, involving tone and imaging.
Who Is This Bundle Best For?
You want the scale and bass impact of a floorstanding speaker without actually buying a floorstander.
You prefer a low, modern speaker placement close to the floor — great for listening from a couch or lounge chair.
You want the warm, natural look of real Walnut wood veneer that blends with mid-century modern or traditional decor.
You listen to a wide variety of music and want a speaker that plays everything well, from acoustic jazz to rock to electronic.
You own a tube or solid-state amplifier rated at 30 watts or more and want a speaker that’s easy to drive.
How Does It Connect to Your System?
The SourcePoint 10 Master Edition uses a single pair of 5-way binding posts on the back panel. These accept banana plugs, spade connectors, or bare wire — whichever your speaker cable uses. Bi-wiring and bi-amping are not supported.
Also on the back panel, you’ll find the three-position tweeter level switch (Low / Mid / High) and two rear-firing bass ports.
Keep in mind, these are passive speakers — they need a separate amplifier or integrated amplifier to power them. With 91 dB sensitivity and a nominal 8-ohm impedance (6.2 ohms minimum), they’re easy to drive with virtually any amplifier, including tube amps rated at 30 watts or more. If you need help choosing an amp, give us a call.
MoFi recommends placing the speakers at least two feet from rear and side walls for best bass response. Foam port bungs are included if you need to place them closer to a wall. The Low Slung Stands position the speakers close to the floor with an upward tilt, so they work best when your seated listening position is at a typical sofa or chair height.

Features & Specifications
Concentric Driver Design
One Driver, One Point of Sound — The 10-inch paper-pulp woofer and 1.25-inch soft-dome tweeter share the same axis. In a concentric (or coaxial) design like this, both drivers radiate from the same point in space. The practical benefit? A remarkably wide sweet spot, consistent sound whether you’re sitting dead center or off to the side, and pinpoint stereo imaging that many reviewers have praised.
Twin-Drive Neodymium Magnet System
Cleaner Sound at the Source — The motor that drives the woofer uses two opposing neodymium magnets to create a perfectly symmetrical magnetic field. This eliminates flux modulation — a type of distortion that can add unwanted frequencies to the signal. The result is exceptionally low intermodulation distortion, so your music sounds purer and more accurate.
Master Edition Crossover
Refined Signal Routing — The Master Edition’s crossover uses polypropylene film capacitors, metalized-film resistors, and air-core inductors on two separate circuit boards. This audiophile-grade network improves the handoff between woofer and tweeter for better integration, lower distortion, and greater clarity across the full frequency range.
Three-Position Tweeter Level Switch
Tuned to Your Room — A rear-panel switch lets you adjust the tweeter output in three steps: Low (for bright rooms), Mid (for average rooms), or High (for heavily damped or treated spaces). It’s a simple, effective way to optimize the speaker for your specific listening environment.
10-Inch Paper-Pulp Woofer
Big Bass, Low Distortion — The 10-inch cone has nearly 2.5 times the surface area of a typical 6.5-inch bookshelf driver. Because it’s so large, it barely needs to move to produce deep, powerful bass — which means less cone excursion, less distortion, and a more stable waveguide for the tweeter. Andrew Jones chose paper pulp after evaluating many materials, finding it offered the ideal combination of properties for this design.
1.25-Inch Wide-Roll Soft Dome Tweeter
Extended, Smooth Highs — The slightly oversized tweeter with its wide-roll surround and large-diameter voice coil delivers smooth response extending beyond 30 kHz. Designer Andrew Jones explained that the wider surround actually extends high-frequency response rather than limiting it, and provides excellent power handling with minimal thermal compression.
Sculpted Multi-Facet Baffle
Reduced Reflections — The 2-inch-thick front baffle is sculpted with swept-back facets rather than being flat. This reduces diffraction — unwanted reflections off the cabinet edge that can color the sound. You hear more of the driver and less of the cabinet.
Satin Walnut Real Wood Veneer
Beautiful, Book-Matched Finish — The cabinet uses 1-inch-thick MDF panels wrapped in genuine Satin Walnut wood veneer. Each pair is book-matched, meaning the wood grain patterns mirror each other across both speakers for a cohesive, furniture-grade look. Two internal braces connect the top, sides, and bottom for a rigid, resonance-free enclosure.
Included Low Slung Speaker Stands
Optimized Low-Profile Listening — The included MoFi Low Slung Stands are purpose-built for the SourcePoint 10. Made of MDF, they position the speakers close to the floor with a subtle upward tilt (6.1″ front height, 3.6″ rear height) that aims the sound toward your seated listening position. Rubberized feet provide stability and floor protection. Dimensions: 13″ W × 6.25″ H × 17.5″ D.

Frequently Asked Questions
What’s the difference between the Master Edition and the original SourcePoint 10?
The Master Edition uses a completely redesigned crossover with higher-grade components — polypropylene film capacitors, metalized-film resistors, and air-core inductors on two separate circuit boards. It also adds a three-position tweeter-level switch (Low / Mid / High) that lets you fine-tune the treble response to match your room. The driver, cabinet, and overall design are the same. If you already own the original SourcePoint 10, MoFi offers a crossover upgrade kit you can install yourself.
What are the Low Slung Stands, and do I have to use them?
The Low Slung Stands are MoFi’s purpose-built speaker cradles designed specifically for the SourcePoint 10. They position the speakers close to the floor with a subtle upward tilt that aims the sound at a seated listener. They’re a great choice if you prefer a low, modern look and listen from a sofa or lounge chair. If you prefer a more traditional setup with the tweeter at ear level, MoFi also makes 22-inch tall steel speaker stands, and other quality stands from brands like Pangea Audio will work well too.
What kind of amplifier do I need?
The SourcePoint 10 Master Edition is very amp-friendly. With 91 dB sensitivity and a nominal 8-ohm impedance, it works well with tube amplifiers, solid-state integrated amps, and power amplifiers rated at 30 watts or more. Reviewers have tested it with everything from single-ended triode tube amps to beefy Class A solid-state amplifiers. If you’re not sure what to pair with it, give us a call at 800-942-0220 and we’ll help you find the right match.
How far from the wall should I place them?
MoFi recommends at least two feet from rear and side walls for best bass response and imaging. If you need to place them closer to a wall, foam port bungs are included to reduce bass reinforcement. Every room is different, so some experimentation with placement will help you find the sweet spot.
What position should the tweeter switch be in?
Start with the Mid position and adjust from there. If your room is bright or reflective (hard floors, lots of glass, minimal soft furnishings), try the Low setting. If your room is heavily treated or damped (thick carpet, curtains, acoustic panels), try the High setting. There’s no wrong answer — go with what sounds best to your ears.
Can I bi-wire or bi-amp these speakers?
No. The SourcePoint 10 Master Edition has a single pair of 5-way binding posts per speaker. Bi-wiring and bi-amping are not supported.
Is this the same speaker as the Black version, just in a different finish?
Yes. The SourcePoint 10 Master Edition in Satin Walnut is sonically identical to the Satin Black Ash version. The only differences are cosmetic: the Walnut has a warm wood-grain finish with Grey grilles, while the Black Ash has a darker finish with Black grilles. This bundle also includes the Low Slung Stands, whereas the Black Ash version is sold without stands.
How does the SourcePoint 10 compare to the SourcePoint 8?
The SourcePoint 10 uses a larger 10-inch concentric driver versus the SourcePoint 8’s 8-inch driver, which gives it deeper bass extension (42 Hz vs. the 8’s higher rolloff), greater sensitivity (91 dB), and more overall dynamic capability. The trade-off is a larger, heavier cabinet. If your room is smaller or you prefer a more compact form factor, the SourcePoint 8 is worth considering. If you have the space and want more bass authority and scale, the SourcePoint 10 is the way to go.
Are these really “bookshelf” speakers?
They’re classified as standmount / bookshelf speakers, but don’t let the category fool you. At 22.5 inches tall, 14.5 inches wide, and nearly 50 pounds each, these are large, substantial speakers that need sturdy stands and some breathing room. Multiple reviewers have noted their size is closer to a small floorstander. The included Low Slung Stands are designed specifically to support their weight and size.
What else do I need to complete my system?
At minimum, you’ll need an amplifier (integrated or separate preamp/power amp), speaker cables, and a source component (turntable, CD player, music streamer, or DAC). Stands are already included in this bundle. If you’re building a system from scratch, call us at 800-942-0220 and we’ll walk you through the options at any budget.
