What You Need to Know
What is the C 3030S, and what does it do?
The NAD C 3030S is the streaming-equipped sibling to NAD's C 3030. Both share the same vintage-inspired Classic Series design — dual illuminated VU meters, the cursive NAD script logo, a black front panel that recalls the 1970s NAD 3030. The "S" signals streaming.
Built-in BluOS — NAD and Bluesound's high-resolution streaming platform — gives you Wi-Fi network audio without the need for an external streamer. AirPlay 2, Tidal Connect, Spotify Connect, Qobuz Connect, and Roon Ready compatibility are all included.
It's a one-box music system for listeners who want the vintage NAD look, real hi-fi performance, and modern streaming convenience — all without a separate streamer in the rack.
Why does it matter? How does it improve your listening?
The C 3030S delivers 50 watts per channel of NAD amplification, conservatively rated into both 8 ohms and 4 ohms across the full audio band, with both channels driven. IHF dynamic power (short-burst peaks) reaches 120 W into 8 ohms, 250 W into 4 ohms, and 390 W into 2 ohms.
BluOS is the key feature. It's the same platform used in Bluesound's Node and Powernode streamers, and in NAD's higher Masters Series models. BluOS supports high-resolution streaming up to 24-bit / 192 kHz, including FLAC, MQA, WAV, and AIFF formats from network shares or streaming services.
The BluOS Controller app (free, for iOS, Android, macOS, Windows, and Kindle Fire) handles everything — picking music, controlling volume, and grouping the C 3030S with other BluOS-compatible products for synchronized multi-room playback.
Beyond BluOS, the C 3030S keeps everything the C 3030 offers: HDMI eARC for direct TV connection, an MM phono input for turntables (with accurate RIAA equalization), an optical digital input, a bass-managed subwoofer output with optional 80 Hz high-pass filter, and a front-panel headphone amplifier.
The combination is unusual at this price: a streaming-enabled integrated amp with serious specifications and a deliberately vintage cosmetic. Most streaming amps look like consumer electronics; the C 3030S looks like a hi-fi component.
Who is this best for?
You want one box with vintage NAD looks, real hi-fi performance, and built-in Wi-Fi streaming — no separate streamer required.
You stream from Tidal, Spotify, Qobuz, or Apple Music (via AirPlay 2) and want the convenience of casting straight from your phone with the music service's native interface.
You use Roon — the C 3030S is Roon Ready out of the box.
You may add a multi-room system over time. BluOS lets the C 3030S sync with Bluesound Node, Pulse, or Powernode products in other rooms.
You play vinyl and watch TV through your stereo — the C 3030S handles both with its MM phono stage and HDMI eARC input.
How does it connect to your system?
Network: Gigabit Ethernet RJ45 plus Wi-Fi 5. Wired Ethernet is the most stable choice for high-resolution streaming; Wi-Fi handles installs where running cable isn't practical.
Analog: MM phono input with grounding terminal for a turntable, plus a line-level RCA input. The bass-managed subwoofer output, with optional 80 Hz high-pass filter, makes integrating a subwoofer easy.
Digital: HDMI eARC for the TV (single cable, TV-remote volume) and optical (Toslink) for CD players, streamers, or set-top boxes.
Wireless: Bluetooth aptX HD 5.0 (receive only — you can stream from a phone or laptop to the amp, but the C 3030S doesn't send to Bluetooth headphones). Plus AirPlay 2 over Wi-Fi.
For speakers, one pair of binding posts. Front-panel headphone jack for private listening. Supplied remote handles standard daily operation; the BluOS Controller app handles streaming and multi-room.
Professional Reviews
The C 3030S is a recent addition to NAD's Classic Series. Long-form professional reviews specifically of this model were limited at the time of research.
The closely related C 3050 — which shares the vintage Classic Series design and was the previous flagship of this look — has earned an EISA Award, What Hi-Fi? Product of the Year and Best Buy designations, and AVForums recognition.

Features & Specifications
BluOS Streaming Built In
BluOS is the same high-resolution streaming platform used in Bluesound's Node and Powernode and in NAD's Masters Series. Built into the C 3030S, it gives you Wi-Fi network audio without an external streamer. The BluOS Controller app (free, on iOS, Android, macOS, and Windows) handles everything.
Streaming Service Support
Native support for Tidal Connect, Spotify Connect, and Qobuz Connect lets you cast straight from each music service's app to the C 3030S using their native interfaces. AirPlay 2 covers Apple Music and most other iOS audio. Roon Ready support for Roon users.
Vintage-Inspired Industrial Design
Dual illuminated VU meters, the cursive "NAD" script logo, and a black front panel recall the original NAD 3030 from the 1970s. The look is hi-fi heritage — designed for listeners who want a system that looks the part of an audiophile setup.
50 Watts per Channel of NAD Amplification
NAD rates the C 3030S at 50 watts per channel into both 8 and 4 ohms — a conservative figure measured with both channels driven across the full audio band. IHF dynamic power: 120 W into 8 ohms, 250 W into 4 ohms, 390 W into 2 ohms.
HDMI eARC for TV Audio
HDMI eARC connects to your TV with a single cable. The TV remote handles volume on the C 3030S once paired — no separate remote needed for TV listening.
MM Phono Input
The built-in moving-magnet phono input handles MM cartridges — the type fitted to most entry-level and mid-range turntables. NAD specifies accurate RIAA equalization and signal-to-noise over 82 dB referenced to a standard 10 mV MM cartridge.
Wi-Fi 5 and Gigabit Ethernet
Network connectivity includes both Wi-Fi 5 and Gigabit Ethernet RJ45. Wired Ethernet is the most stable choice for high-resolution streaming; Wi-Fi handles installs where running cable isn't practical.
Bass-Managed Subwoofer Output (Optional 80 Hz HPF)
The dedicated subwoofer output includes an optional fixed 80 Hz high-pass filter. With the filter engaged, bass below 80 Hz is routed to the subwoofer while the main speakers handle the rest — small bookshelves can sound surprisingly full when paired with the right sub.
Bluetooth aptX HD (Receive)
Bluetooth 5.0 with aptX HD in receive mode lets you stream from a phone, tablet, or laptop to the amp. aptX HD is a higher-quality Bluetooth codec than standard SBC.
Multi-Room Audio via BluOS
The C 3030S can join a BluOS multi-room system — group it with Bluesound Node, Pulse, or Powernode products in other rooms for synchronized playback, or send different sources to different rooms.
Voice Control Support
Skills and support for Amazon Alexa and Apple Siri with corresponding enabled devices and apps. Ask Alexa to play music; ask Siri to adjust volume.
Smart Home Integration Partners
BluOS integrates with Control4, Crestron, ELAN, Lutron, Push, Roon, RTI, and URC for installed-home control systems.

Frequently Asked Questions
What else do I need to use the C 3030S?
You'll need a pair of speakers, speaker cables, and at least one source — or just a network connection for streaming. The C 3030S handles preamp, phono, amp, and BluOS streaming all in one box. Need help picking matched gear? Call us.
Is the C 3030S a good match for my speakers?
Matching depends on power output, speaker sensitivity, and impedance — and the right answer depends on your specific speakers and room. 50 W per channel works well with efficient bookshelf or compact floorstanding speakers in small-to-medium rooms. Call us at 800-942-0220 and we'll help.
What's the difference between the C 3030S and the C 3030?
The "S" stands for streaming. The C 3030S adds BluOS built-in Wi-Fi streaming (Tidal Connect, Spotify Connect, Qobuz Connect, AirPlay 2, Roon Ready) to the C 3030's feature set. Same VU-meter aesthetic, same 50 W per channel, same phono and HDMI eARC.
What is BluOS?
BluOS is NAD and Bluesound's high-resolution streaming platform. Think of it as a music-streaming operating system. It supports streaming services, local network shares, internet radio, and multi-room audio across compatible products. The free BluOS Controller app (on iOS, Android, macOS, Windows, Kindle Fire) handles everything.
Does this support Dirac Live room correction?
No. Dirac Live on NAD's Classic Series is available via the optional MDC2 BluOS-D card, which fits the C 379 and C 3050 chassis. The C 3030S has BluOS built in but no MDC2 slot, so Dirac Live isn't available. If room correction matters, look at the C 379 or C 3050.
Does this have a built-in phono stage?
Yes. The C 3030S has a moving-magnet (MM) phono input. NAD specifies accurate RIAA equalization and signal-to-noise over 82 dB referenced to a standard 10 mV MM cartridge. Moving-coil (MC) cartridges need an external phono stage.
Is the C 3030S Roon Ready?
Yes. The C 3030S is Roon Ready out of the box. Roon users can stream to it as an endpoint at up to 24-bit / 192 kHz over the network.
Can it work with my smart home?
Yes. BluOS integrates with Control4, Crestron, ELAN, Lutron, Push, Roon, RTI, and URC. Voice control via Amazon Alexa and Apple Siri (using enabled devices and apps) is also supported.
How does this compare to the C 700 V2 BluOS streaming amp?
The C 700 V2 is a modern-looking BluOS streaming amp with HDMI eARC and similar streaming capability — different industrial design (sleek, no VU meters). The C 3030S targets the listener who wants vintage Classic Series styling with BluOS built in. Call us for a side-by-side comparison.
