Unequaled 'Golden Age' Sonic PerformanceMarrying a gorgeous sounding tube pre-amp with solid-state amplification has been a technique for achieving unequaled sound quality in high-end component audio since the advent of the transistor. While kicking around ideas for their new headphone amp, Music Hall's Roy Hall wondered, why not try this same technique in a single component? So he built one and was blown away by the increased detail, clarity, and presence the design offered. The tube hybrid headphone amp was born. Hand assembled using the highest quality parts available the Music Hall ph25.2 will have you singing along with your favorite artists. Luxurious Vacuum Tube SoundFor classic Golden Age hi-fi sound with all the luxury that only vacuum tube designs can offer, the ph25.2 uses a highly reliable 6N16B tube preamp section employing SRPP circuitry. Two buffered headphone outputs incorporate superior TPA6120 op amps, and these are complemented by Neutrik headphone jacks. It's a Preamplifier, TooThe preamplifier output means that the ph25.2 isn't just a gorgeous sounding headphone amp, it's (you guessed it!) a high quality line stage preamplifier, too. Audiophile-Grade ComponentsAudiophile-grade CMC RCA connections in the CD and AUX inputs, plus the preamp output, ensure that there's no signal loss. The special low-noise R-core power transformer keeps the background silent for superior detail. Volume control is via a precision Alps-type 27 potentiometer with 0.5 dB accuracy for smooth and noise-free circuitry. The solid and substantial chassis has a 1⁄2-inch brushed alloy fascia.
