Analysis Plus Bi-Wire Big Silver Oval Speaker Cable - 6 Foot - Banana to Banana - Pair
What It Does in Your System
Their Best Silver Cable, Internally Bi-Wired
Big Silver Oval is what Analysis Plus points to when you ask for their finest silver design. This is the bi-wired version of it. One set of connections at the amplifier splits into two at the speaker, feeding the bass and treble posts on separate conductors.
Here's why that helps. Your speaker's crossover already splits high and low frequencies into separate circuits. Bi-wiring gives each one its own path, so the strong magnetic field around the bass signal stops interfering with the much smaller treble signal.
Silver Over Copper, Without the Glare
Silver cables have an old reputation for sounding hard and brittle. Earlier designs earned it. Analysis Plus lays pure silver over a strand of oxygen-free copper, and that does two jobs at once. The copper gives the hollow oval the strength to hold its shape. The silver brings speed and detail without the edge.
The result is a cable that doesn't editorialize. It won't warm up a bright system or tame a forward one. It simply lets you hear more of what your components are doing.
Nine-Gauge Hollow Oval, Built by Hand
The current Big Silver Oval is a real revision of the original. It moved from 12 gauge up to a thick 9 gauge with a longer, more stretched oval shape, and the low end gained real punch to match the midrange and treble it was always known for.
The hollow oval keeps resistance low even at the frequency extremes, where rising resistance rolls off the top end in ordinary cable. That build can't be machine-terminated, so each cable gets about an hour of handwork. In this version there are twice as many connections to make.
Is This Right for You?
A few things to check before you order:
- Your speakers have to be bi-wireable. Look for two pairs of binding posts on each speaker — four terminals total, usually joined by metal jumper bars from the factory. If your speakers have just one pair, this cable won't connect properly and you want the standard Big Silver Oval instead.
- This is a complete pair. You get two 6-foot cables, one per speaker, each splitting into four connections at the speaker end. There's no need to order two.
- Check that four bananas will fit. The speaker end lands four plugs across two pairs of posts that may sit close together. If your terminals are tightly spaced or shrouded, call us before ordering.
Setup & Installation
Start at the speaker and take off the factory jumper bars. This is the step people forget, and leaving them on cancels the whole point of bi-wiring. Then connect the four bananas: positive and negative to the treble posts, positive and negative to the bass posts. Watch polarity carefully across all four.
At the amplifier, push the two bananas into one pair of binding posts until they seat, red to positive and black to negative. Six feet suits speakers set close to your rack. Measure the real path the cable will travel and leave a little slack so its weight doesn't hang on the plugs.
Features & Specifications
Internal Bi-Wire Design
Separate conductors carry bass and treble from a single amplifier connection, keeping bass magnetic fields away from the treble signal.
Pure Silver Over Oxygen-Free Copper
Silver brings speed and detail while the copper core holds the hollow oval's shape.
Patented Hollow Oval Geometry
A stretched oval shape keeps resistance low across the audio range, including the extremes where ordinary cable struggles.
9-Gauge Conductor, Finished by Hand
Moving up from 12 gauge brought real low-end punch, and every cable gets about an hour of handwork before it ships.

Frequently Asked Questions
Will this work with my speakers?
Only if they're set up for bi-wiring, meaning two pairs of binding posts on each speaker. If yours have a single pair, an internally bi-wired cable can't connect properly. Choose the standard Big Silver Oval instead.
Do I have to remove the jumper bars?
Yes, and it's the step people forget. Those metal plates link the bass and treble posts together. Leave them on and the two halves of the cable simply reconnect at the speaker, so you get no bi-wire benefit at all.
How does this compare to the Bi-Wire Oval 9?
Same hollow oval idea and the same bi-wire setup. Big Silver Oval uses pure silver over a copper core instead of copper alone, which makes it the more revealing cable. Oval 9 is still excellent and costs considerably less.
