What It Does in Your System
Built by the People Other Cable Companies Hired
Analysis Plus started out in Flushing, Michigan doing testing work for cable brands you'd know by name. After studying the field from the inside, they decided they could build something better. The hollow oval conductor is what came out of that work.
Oval 9 has been their best seller for years. Black Mesh is the current version, with better connectors and a new dielectric — the insulation around the wire — that responds faster to the signal.
An Oval Shape That Spreads the Current Evenly
Analysis Plus ran extensive computer models before settling on a hollow oval shape. In a round wire, current crowds toward the outside as the pitch gets higher. That uneven flow is one reason some cables sound tonally lopsided.
The oval shape spreads current much more evenly across the whole conductor. You hear that as consistency. Bass keeps pace with treble, and the tonal balance holds steady even when the music gets busy.
Nine-Gauge Copper, Woven and Finished by Hand
Oval 9 is a thick 9-gauge cable made from oxygen-free copper. There's plenty of metal here to carry deep bass at high volume without strain.
Instead of one solid wire, which can kink and deform over time, Analysis Plus weaves many strands into a braid. The pattern puts every strand about the same distance from the return current. That braid can't be machine-terminated, so each cable gets more than an hour of handwork before it ships.
Is This Right for You?
A few things to check before you order:
- Make sure the pin fits your terminal. Pins are for terminals that won't take anything bigger. That usually means a spring clip, or a binding post with a small hole through the side. Pin sizes vary, so measure your opening or call us with your make and model.
- This is a complete pair. You get two 8-foot cables, one for each speaker. There's no need to order two.
- Nine gauge is a thick cable. It's heavier and stiffer than lamp cord. Give it a gentle curve behind your speakers instead of a sharp corner.
Setup & Installation
Put each connector where it fits. The spade slides under a binding post nut and you tighten it down by hand until it sits flat. The pin either seats in the hole through the side of a binding post, or pushes into a spring clip until the clip closes on it.
Watch your polarity as you go. Red goes to positive and black goes to negative, the same way on both channels. Eight feet suits speakers set a normal distance from your rack. Measure the real path the cable will travel, not the straight line, and leave a little slack. A pin doesn't grip as firmly as a tightened spade, so don't let the cable's weight hang on it.
Features & Specifications
Patented Hollow Oval Geometry
The oval shape keeps resistance steady across the whole audio range, so current spreads evenly and tone stays balanced.
Woven Braided Conductor
Every strand sits about the same distance from the return current, and the braid resists the kinks that ruin solid wire.
9-Gauge Oxygen-Free Copper
A thick conductor delivers deep bass at high volume without squeezing the sound.
Upgraded Dielectric and Connectors
Black Mesh adds faster insulation and better connectors than the original Oval 9, with over an hour of handwork per cable.

Frequently Asked Questions
Is this one cable or two?
Two. You get a matched pair, one cable per speaker. A single order connects your amplifier to both speakers.
When would I want a pin instead of a spade or banana?
When your terminal won't take anything larger. Spring clips and small binding post holes are the usual reasons. This cable uses a pin only at one end, so you keep the firmer spade grip at the other.
Which end goes to the amplifier?
Either one — it makes no electrical difference. Let your hardware decide. Whichever component has the tighter terminal gets the pin.
