Standard Toslink connectors at both ends, in a generous 8-meter (26 ft 3 in) length for when the display and the electronics live on opposite sides of the room.
A 3.5mm mini-Toslink adaptor is included in the box, so components with the smaller combination headphone-and-optical jack — common on laptops and some compact players — are covered without a separate purchase.
Nineteen Fibers Instead of One, and the Difference Is Timing
Most Toslink cables use a single large fiber. Light from the LED enters at many different angles, so some of it takes a longer, bouncing path down the cable and arrives late — like a pool ball ricocheting off the rails. That dispersion smears the data across time and narrows bandwidth, and the decoder on the other end has to work with a blurred signal.
Carbon uses 19 narrow-aperture fibers of high-purity synthetic instead. The light path is more direct, dispersion drops sharply, and what reaches your DAC is better-timed data. You'll hear that as less jitter-related hardness and more realistic detail.

- Optical has bandwidth limits worth knowing. Toslink carries two-channel PCM and compressed surround formats like Dolby Digital and DTS. It cannot carry Dolby Atmos, DTS:X, or high-resolution multichannel audio — those need HDMI. If lossless surround is the goal, talk to us about an HDMI eARC connection instead.

Pull the protective caps off both ends and save them. Push each connector straight into the optical port until it seats — some ports have a spring-loaded dust flap that the plug pushes open. If you need the mini-Toslink end, fit the included 3.5mm adaptor over the connector before inserting. Then set your source device's digital audio output to PCM or Bitstream as your receiver or soundbar requires.
Optical fiber doesn't like sharp bends, so route the 8-meter run with generous curves rather than tight corners, and avoid pinching it under furniture legs or in a door frame. The good news on a run this long: because there's no metal in the signal path, you can run it alongside AC power cords without any concern about interference.
