AudioQuest's Diamond is the top of its coaxial digital range. Its conductor is solid Perfect-Surface Silver, AudioQuest's highest-quality metal, with no copper beneath. A Carbon-Based 6-Layer shield wraps it, and a 72-volt Dielectric-Bias System with an RF Trap sits on the cable.

A Solid Perfect-Surface Silver Conductor

AudioQuest says solid conductors prevent electrical and magnetic strand interaction. Perfect-Surface Silver, in its words, minimizes distortion caused by grain boundaries and maximizes linear dissipation of radio-frequency noise. Where the rest of the range plates copper with silver, Diamond is silver all the way through.

Hard-Cell Foam insulates the conductor. AudioQuest injects it with nitrogen to form air pockets, and says nitrogen neither absorbs nor releases signal energy. Its stiffness holds the conductor at a fixed spacing, which AudioQuest says produces a stable impedance character along the full length.

Six Shield Layers and a Biased Dielectric

Around the conductor sits Carbon-Based 6-Layer Noise-Dissipation, one layer more than Carbon and Coffee. AudioQuest says the alternating metal and carbon-loaded layers shield the shield, absorbing and reflecting most radio noise before it reaches the layer attached to ground.

The 72-volt Dielectric-Bias System adds an RF Trap on Diamond. The pack puts a steady charge on the insulation, which AudioQuest says improves wide-bandwidth dissipation of induced radio noise. The battery carries no load, so it lasts for years, and a button and light let you test it.

Diamond ends in a cold-welded RCA plug at each end, plated with Hanging-Silver directly over pure Red Copper.
