AudioQuest Rocket 11 Speaker Cable - 12 Foot - Bi-Wire - BFA Bananas to BFA Bananas - Pair
What You Need to Know
The Cable That Keeps Winning Its Category, Configured for Bi-Wiring
Rocket 11 sits at the accessible end of AudioQuest's Rocket range and has become one of the most recommended first "serious" speaker cables you can buy — What Hi-Fi? has handed it their Best Mid-Price Cable award multiple years running. This listing is a matched 12-foot pair in the single bi-wire configuration, terminated with AudioQuest BFA bananas at both ends.
Single bi-wire means two banana plugs at the amplifier end and four at the speaker end, so your speaker's separate bass and treble binding posts each get their own conductor pair.
Double Spiral-Pair Geometry for Clarity Instead of Smear
A speaker cable that simply runs its conductors in parallel has fairly high inductance, which smears energy across time and leaves the sound dull and unfocused. In Rocket 11, the two conductors in each half of the cable are twisted around one another. Inductance drops, and you'll hear it as greater clarity and better extension from the bottom of the bass right through the top of the treble.
Semi-Solid Conductors That Hold Their Position
In ordinary stranded cable, individual strands shift position along the length of the run, and the electrical and magnetic interaction between them compounds into audible distortion. AudioQuest's semi-solid concentric construction uses fewer, larger strands locked into fixed relationships, which reduces that distortion, improves resolution, and takes the harshness and confusion out of dense passages.
The metal is Long-Grain Copper (LGC) — fewer oxides, fewer impurities, and fewer grain boundaries than standard OFHC copper, for a smoother and clearer presentation.
Is This Right for You?
A few things to confirm before ordering:
- Your speakers have two sets of binding posts. Bi-wiring only applies when the speaker gives separate access to its high-pass and low-pass crossover sections. If yours have a single pair of posts, order the full-range version instead — this configuration won't connect properly.
- You're removing the factory jumpers. Bi-wireable speakers ship with metal straps or jumper wires linking the two post pairs. Those come off when you bi-wire, or you'll defeat the point of the cable.
- Your binding posts accept bananas. BFA bananas fit standard banana jacks and work with shrouded EU-style posts that won't let a spade tighten down. If any of your posts don't accept bananas, ask us about spade termination.
Setup & Installation
At the amplifier, insert the two BFA bananas into the positive and negative binding posts. At the speaker, remove the factory jumper straps first, then connect the four bananas — one positive and one negative to the treble posts, one positive and one negative to the bass posts. Match red to positive and black to negative at every connection, and confirm both channels are wired identically before playing music.
Twelve feet gives you room to route around furniture or along baseboards. Rocket 11 is CL3/FT4-certified, so it's also rated for in-wall installation if your run needs to disappear. Keep it clear of AC power cords where you can, and cross at right angles where you can't.
Features & Specifications
Semi-Solid Concentric Conductors
Fewer, larger strands held in fixed positions sharply reduce the strand interaction that causes dynamic distortion.
Long-Grain Copper (LGC)
Fewer oxides and grain boundaries than standard OFHC copper, for a smoother and clearer sound.
Double Spiral-Pair Geometry
Twisting the conductors in each half lowers inductance for greater clarity and better bass-to-treble extension.
CL3/FT4 Certification
Rated for in-wall installation, so the same cable works for both open runs and custom install.

Frequently Asked Questions
Is this a pair or a single cable?
This is a matched pair — two 12-foot bi-wire cables, one per speaker. Everything you need to bi-wire a stereo system is included.
Can I use this configuration if my speakers only have one set of binding posts?
No. The speaker end has four banana plugs meant for two separate post pairs. If your speakers have a single pair, order the full-range Rocket 11 instead — give us a call and we'll get you the right version.
What's the difference between bi-wiring and bi-amping?
Bi-wiring runs separate conductors from one amplifier to your speaker's bass and treble inputs, which keeps the large magnetic fields around the bass signal from modulating the treble conductors. Bi-amping uses two separate amplifier channels per speaker and requires a different cable configuration.
