A True Bi-Wire Run, Built as One Cable
Rocket 11 was designed from the start to work either full-range or single bi-wire, and this configuration takes the second path: spades at the amplifier end, four BFA bananas at the speaker end, feeding your speaker's bass and treble inputs independently. One cable per channel does the work of two.
The advantage is real and easy to understand. A speaker's crossover splits high and low frequencies into separate filter networks, and bi-wiring keeps the large magnetic fields associated with bass energy out of the conductor carrying the far more delicate treble signal.
Semi-Solid Concentric Long-Grain Copper
In an ordinary stranded cable, individual strands wander in and out of position along the run, and the electrical and magnetic interaction between them compounds into distortion. AudioQuest's semi-solid concentric construction uses fewer, larger strands held in fixed relationships from end to end, packed in a reversing spiral that keeps each one's position and contact stable.

A few things to confirm before you order:
- Your speakers must be bi-wireable. Look for two pairs of binding posts per speaker — four terminals total — usually joined by metal jumper bars from the factory. If your speakers have a single pair, you want the full-range configuration instead, not this one.
- This is a complete pair. Two 12-foot cables, one per channel, each splitting into four connections at the speaker end. No need to double your quantity.
- Check that the spades suit your amplifier. Spade lugs give a broad contact patch and work well with conventional five-way posts. Setup & Installation
Start at the speaker end and remove the factory jumper bars linking the two pairs of binding posts — leaving them in place defeats the entire purpose of bi-wiring. Then connect the four BFA bananas: positive and negative to the treble posts, positive and negative to the bass posts, observing polarity carefully across all four.
At the amplifier end, connect the two spades to a single pair of binding posts, red to positive and black to negative. Twelve feet suits speakers set a comfortable distance from the rack — measure the real routing path rather than the straight-line distance, and leave slack so the cable's weight isn't hanging on the terminations.

Do I need to remove my speakers' jumper bars?
Yes, and it's the step people forget. The metal jumpers linking the bass and treble binding posts must come off, or the two halves of the cable simply reconnect at the speaker and you get no bi-wire benefit at all.
What does bi-wiring actually do?
Your speaker's crossover already separates high and low frequencies into different filter networks. Bi-wiring gives each network its own conductor, so the large magnetic fields generated by bass energy no longer modulate the cable carrying the delicate treble signal.
Can I use it full-range if I change speakers later?
Not in this terminated form — the four bananas at the speaker end are built for bi-wire duty. If you expect your speakers to change, the full-range configuration of Rocket 11 is the more flexible purchase.
