Two Coppers, Placed Where Each One Matters Most

Rocket 22 blends two of AudioQuest's conductor metals rather than picking one. Long-Grain Copper sits in the center of the semi-solid concentric bundle, while higher-purity Perfect-Surface Copper forms the outer layer — and it's that outer layer that has the most influence on what you hear.

Because high frequencies travel closest to a conductor's surface, putting PSC on the outside gets you most of the way to an all-PSC cable's clarity and smoothness at a price that stays reasonable. You'll notice it as a deeper soundstage, cleaner mids and highs, and warmer, fuller bass.

Concentric Conductors and Spiral Geometry Working Together

• This is the full-range configuration. Two spades at the amplifier end, two at the speaker end. If your speakers have separate bass and treble binding posts and you want to bi-wire, Rocket 22 is offered in a single bi-wire version instead.
• Your binding posts accept spades. Spades give excellent contact area, but some EU-compliant shrouded posts won't let a spade tighten down properly. If yours are the recessed type, ask us about banana termination.
• You want more cable than Rocket 11 offers. Rocket 11 is a superb value and a multiple-award winner. Rocket 22 is for when you want the bigger conductor and the PSC outer layer — it's a step up, not a replacement for a cable that's already working well for you.

Setup & Installation

Loosen the binding posts on your amplifier and speakers, slide the spade lugs over the posts, and tighten firmly by hand — snug enough that the spade can't rotate, without straining the post. Observe polarity at both ends, positive to positive and negative to negative, and wire both channels identically before playing music. AudioQuest's conductors are direction-controlled, so orient the cable per the markings on the jacket, running from amplifier toward speaker.

Twelve feet gives you room to route around furniture or along baseboards. Rocket 22 is CL3/FT4 certified, so the same cable is rated for in-wall installation if your run needs to disappear. Keep it clear of AC power cords where you can, and cross at right angles where you can't.
