Two Coppers, Placed Where Each One Matters Most

Rocket 22 blends two of AudioQuest's conductor metals rather than picking one. Long-Grain Copper sits at the center of the semi-solid concentric bundle, while higher-purity Perfect-Surface Copper forms the outer layer — and it's that outer layer that has the most influence on what you hear.

Because high frequencies travel closest to a conductor's surface, putting PSC on the outside gets you most of the way to an all-PSC cable's clarity at a price that stays reasonable. You'll notice a deeper soundstage, cleaner mids and highs, and fuller, warmer bass.

Magnetic Autonomy Is What Makes Bi-Wiring Worth Doing

Is This Right for You?

A few things to confirm before ordering:

• Your speakers have two sets of binding posts. Bi-wiring only works when the speaker gives separate access to its high-pass and low-pass crossover sections. Single-post speakers need the full-range Rocket 22 instead — this configuration won't connect properly.
• Six feet is short — measure carefully. That's right for speakers flanking a rack or a near-field setup, but it leaves little slack. Measure the actual routing path with the cable dressed the way you'll install it, not the straight-line distance.
• Your binding posts accept bananas. BFA bananas fit standard banana jacks and work with shrouded EU-style posts that won't let a spade tighten down. If any of your terminals won't take a banana, ask us about spade termination.

Setup & Installation

At the amplifier, insert the two BFA bananas into the positive and negative binding posts. At the speaker, remove the factory jumper straps first — leaving them in place defeats the entire purpose of bi-wiring — then connect the four bananas: one positive and one negative to the treble posts, one positive and one negative to the bass posts. Match polarity at every connection and wire both channels identically before playing music.

AudioQuest's conductors are direction-controlled, so orient the cable per the markings on the jacket, running from amplifier toward speaker. Rocket 22 is CL3/FT4 certified, so the same cable is rated for in-wall installation if you need the run to disappear. Keep it clear of AC power cords where you can and cross at right angles where you can't.
