Why Double Star-Quad Makes This a True Bi-Wire

Most bi-wire cables are one cable split at the end. Rocket 44 was two cables all along. Its Double Star-Quad geometry arranges those eight conductors into two four-wire groups, each magnetically independent of the other. Separating them at the speaker end gives a genuine double bi-wire run, not a shared bundle.

AudioQuest tunes the two halves differently on purpose. One leans toward treble finesse, the other toward bass weight, and neither is complete alone. Feeding one to the tweeter terminals and one to the woofer puts each half where it belongs.

The four negative conductors wear partially conductive carbon-loaded polyethylene, so radio-frequency noise drains there instead of riding back into your amplifier’s ground. A second carbon layer outside handles room interference, while the positive conductors use foamed polyethylene, whose high air content stores very little energy.

Every conductor runs in a tested direction, and the PVC pants are marked Amp End and Speaker End. The Pangea connectors are machined from one piece of 100% tellurium copper and plated in 24-carat gold, with a spring-compression grip that holds tension in the post.

How Does It Connect to Your System?

Start by removing the jumper straps between your speaker’s binding posts; leave them in and bi-wiring does nothing. Then run the Amp End connectors to your amplifier, red to red and black to black. At the speaker, the four connectors split into two pairs, one for the low-frequency terminals and one for the high. Keep polarity correct, repeat for the second channel, and keep the runs away from power cords.
