The Complete Aurender, One Box
Aurender's reference servers feed separate DACs. The A200 puts everything in one chassis. There is the caching server, the streamer, and a full MQA-decoding DAC with analog outputs. It is the most direct way into Aurender ownership. Connect it to your amplifier, and one beautifully built component becomes your entire digital front end.
The A200 keeps the architecture that made Aurender's name. Music copies to a 240GB solid-state cache before playing. That isolates playback from network traffic, and from drive noise as well.
Two rear bays take your own 2.5-inch drives for library storage. Dual isolated network ports keep noise off the signal path, and a 6.9-inch color display shows album art across the room. Tidal and Qobuz stream through the Conductor app.
Conversion runs through an AKM AK4490 DAC. Full MQA decoding is included as standard. It plays hi-res PCM up to 32-bit and 768kHz, and DSD512, over its own internal path.
A Server That Can Also Stay a Transport
The analog RCA outputs connect straight to your amplifier. App-controlled volume is there for feeding a power amp directly. Prefer a different converter someday? A dedicated USB audio output lets the A200 serve as a pure transport into any external DAC. The upgrade path stays open.
Build follows Aurender tradition. The chassis is machined aluminum, at a substantial 21 pounds. Playback is silent and solid-state. The software has been refined over a decade of server-making. It comes in black or silver.
What Reviewers Are Saying
Drew Gagliano of The Audio Beatnik, in an April 4, 2022 review, described the A200 as "neutral and balanced, without any artificially hyped frequencies," with a "remarkable amount of inner detail and subtlety," concluding: "If you can afford the steep cost of entry, you won't be disappointed by the A200's performance." Cayla Menges of Moon Audio praised its "good bass attack and thick mids" with "plenty of high-frequency extension for wonderful detail and resolution."
Who Is This Server Best For?
- You want Aurender in one box — server, streamer, and DAC together, with no separate converter to buy.
- You have a music file collection — dual drive bays store your library alongside Tidal and Qobuz streaming.
- You value the Conductor app — the benchmark control software in high-end audio comes standard.
- You want an upgrade path — the USB output lets it feed an external DAC later, becoming a pure transport.
- You listen on headphones as well as speakers — the analog outputs run straight into a dedicated headphone amplifier, so one library serves both. See our headphone amplifiers.
How Does It Connect to Your System?
Connect the RCA outputs to your amplifier, or use app-controlled volume to feed a power amp directly. Join your network over Ethernet, install drives in the rear bays if you have a file library, and manage everything from the Conductor app on iPad, iPhone, or Android. The USB audio output stands ready if you add an external DAC down the road.
The caching engine handles the rest, buffering music to solid state before it plays.

Frequently Asked Questions
Does the A200 include a DAC?
Yes, an AKM AK4490 with full MQA decoding, feeding analog RCA outputs. That's what separates the A-series from Aurender's digital-only N-series transports.
What does "caching" mean?
The A200 copies upcoming music to its 240GB solid-state cache and plays from there, isolating playback from network traffic and drive noise.
Can it store my music library?
Yes. Two rear bays accept 2.5" SSDs or hard drives (sold separately).
What streaming services does it support?
Tidal and Qobuz, fully integrated into the Aurender Conductor app, plus your own stored and network files.
Can I use an external DAC with it?
Yes. A dedicated USB audio output lets the A200 work as a pure transport whenever you choose.
What formats does it play?
Hi-res PCM up to 32-bit/768kHz and DSD512, plus full MQA decoding.
