The MSX20 is the larger of the two satellites in Cambridge Audio's MSX Series, launched in April 2026 to succeed the long-running Minx range. It pairs Cambridge's fourth-generation Balanced Mode Radiator driver with a second, dedicated bass driver. The cabinet is just over six inches tall.

A Balanced Mode Radiator, or BMR, moves like a conventional cone at low frequencies and flexes like a flat panel higher up. One 2.25-inch driver covers most of the range with very wide dispersion. The MSX20 adds a matching 2.25-inch driver for bass, which brings more weight and scale.

You buy exactly the count your room needs: two for stereo, one for a center channel, or a full surround set. Every position ends up with the same voicing, which is the whole point of a modular system.

How Does It Connect to Your System?

The MSX20 is passive. Speaker cable runs from your amplifier or receiver to the terminals on the back. Those terminals unscrew to accept 4 mm banana plugs, so there is no proprietary cabling to deal with.

Set the feet on a shelf or fit a wall mount, and aim each speaker roughly at the seating area. If you add a subwoofer, set its crossover near 120 Hz, which is where the MSX20 rolls off.
