A Ready-to-Play Belt-Drive Turntable with Bluetooth
The Cambridge Audio SPIRA 1 is a manual belt-drive turntable built to play records from day one. It arrives with an Audio-Technica AT3600L moving magnet cartridge already fitted and aligned.
A built-in phono stage lets it connect straight to an amplifier or active speakers. A Bluetooth transmitter sends your records to wireless speakers or headphones. As your collection grows, the stylus, cartridge and phono stage can all be upgraded.
Phono Stage Included, With Room to Upgrade
A rear switch selects the output. Set to Line, the SPIRA 1 uses its internal phono stage and plugs into any line-level input. Set to Phono, it bypasses that stage so you can add an external phono preamp later.
Bluetooth Without a Separate Box
The built-in Bluetooth transmitter sends your records to a Bluetooth speaker, headphones or earbuds. It is transmit-only, so it cannot play music from your phone. A blue LED flashes while pairing and stays solid once connected.
A Solid Platform and a Tonearm You Can Tune
A 1.8 kg high-mass steel platter sits on an MDF plinth with isolating rubber feet. Belt drive and a DC motor hold wow and flutter below 0.15%. One electronic dial starts the platter and selects 33⅓ or 45 RPM.
The straight aluminum tonearm has adjustable tracking force and anti-skate. Its removable headshell makes cartridge changes straightforward. The official replacement stylus is the ATN3600LC, and the ATN3600LE stylus is a step up.
Where the SPIRA 1 Fits in Your System
The SPIRA 1 plays LPs and singles at 33⅓ and 45 RPM, and a 7" single adapter is included. In Line mode it connects to an amplifier's line input or to powered speakers with RCA inputs. In Phono mode it needs a phono input or an external phono stage.
There are a few things it will not do. It has no USB output, so it cannot record to a computer. It has no 78 RPM speed and no auto-return, so you lift and return the tonearm by hand.
Cambridge notes that connecting to Sonos may need a cable adaptor. Call us at 800-942-0220 and we'll help you check your system.
Who Is This Turntable Best For?
- First-time vinyl buyers — The cartridge comes fitted and aligned, and the phono stage is built in. There is nothing extra to buy before the first record.
- Owners of powered speakers — Line mode connects straight to active speakers with RCA inputs.
- Wireless and late-night listeners — Bluetooth sends your records to wireless headphones or a speaker across the room.
- Listeners planning to upgrade — A removable headshell and switchable phono output leave room for a better cartridge or phono stage.
- Not for automatic playback or USB recording — The SPIRA 1 is fully manual and has no USB output.
How Does It Connect to Your System?
Fit the platter, belt and counterweight as shown in the manual. Set tracking force to 3–3.5 g and the anti-skate dial to 3.
- Built-in phono stage: set the rear output switch to Line. Connect the included RCA cable to a line-level input on your amp or powered speakers.
- External phono stage: set the switch to Phono. Connect the RCA cable and its ground lead to your phono stage or your amplifier's phono input.
- Bluetooth: turn the rear Bluetooth switch on, then put your speaker or headphones in pairing mode.
- Important: power the turntable off before changing the Line/Phono switch.

Frequently Asked Questions
Do I need a separate phono preamp?
No. Set the rear switch to Line and the built-in phono stage does the job. You can add an external phono stage later by switching to Phono.
Can I stream music from my phone to the SPIRA 1?
No. Its Bluetooth is transmit-only. It sends your records to a Bluetooth speaker or headphones but cannot receive audio.
Is it automatic?
No, it is a manual turntable. You lower the tonearm with the lift lever and return it to its rest by hand.
How often should I replace the stylus?
Cambridge recommends a new stylus every 300 hours of play. The official replacement is the ATN3600LC, and the ATN3600LE is an upgrade option.
What comes in the box?
The turntable, hub, platter, slipmat, drive belt, counterweight, dust cover and single adapter. You also get a power adaptor with switchable plugs, an RCA cable with grounding and a protractor card.
