What You Need to Know

This cable replaces the stock cable on your Sennheiser HD600 or HD650. It uses the same wire as Cardas's top Clear cables. The copper is 99.9999% pure. Every tiny strand is coated on its own, then wound around a Kevlar core. Left and right get their own separate cable, which suits these headphones well, since each earcup already takes its own plug. Air-filled tubes hold the wires in place, and a shield wraps each run to keep noise out.

The plugs matter just as much as the wire. On the amp end you get a Cardas 1/4" plug, machined from solid brass and plated with rhodium over silver. Rhodium is very hard and does not tarnish, so the contact stays clean for years. The metal is non-magnetic. Cardas even sells these same plugs to other cable builders. On the headphone end are two-pin plugs that push in and click into place, just like the stock ones. Changing cables takes seconds. The soft jacket stays quiet when you move it, which is a nice change if your stock cable is long and springy. Pick a length from 1.5 to 4.5 meters.
