Three Woofers Deliver Deep, Powerful Bass

The SONIK 9 uses three 7-inch bass and midrange drivers. Their Clarity Cone™ diaphragms combine paper and wood fiber. This creates a cone that is light, stiff, and well controlled. The textured surface also helps control unwanted vibration.

Each driver uses a powerful double-magnet system. The large cones can move plenty of air, giving drums, bass guitar, orchestras, and movie effects a strong foundation. DALI rates the speaker’s bass response down to 34 Hz, so many music systems may not need a subwoofer.

Lower Distortion Keeps Music Clear

DALI’s patented SMC™ Essential Magnet System is used in all three woofers. SMC stands for Soft Magnetic Composite. This material is designed to reduce electrical and magnetic effects that can add distortion inside a speaker driver.

Reducing this distortion helps the SONIK 9 keep voices and instruments clear when music becomes complex. Separate internal chambers for the woofers and strong cabinet bracing also help control unwanted sound from inside the enclosure.

Wide, Detailed Sound from the Hybrid Tweeter

The Hybrid Tweeter System combines a 29mm soft-dome tweeter with a 17 x 45mm planar magnetostatic tweeter. The soft dome covers most of the treble range. The planar driver handles the highest frequencies and extends the response to 30,000 Hz.

This two-tweeter design helps spread sound across a wide area. More than one listener can enjoy a balanced presentation without being limited to one narrow seat. DALI recommends placing the speakers so they point straight into the room instead of turning them sharply toward the listener.

Built for Stability and Controlled Bass

Three rear-firing Dual Flare bass-reflex ports help the woofers reach deeper while limiting unwanted port noise. Because the ports are on the rear, the speakers need room between the cabinets and the wall. DALI recommends a rear-wall distance of 8 to 47 inches.

Aluminum outriggers create a wide, stable base. Metal spikes are included for carpet, along with rubber feet for hard floors. A magnetic grille gives each speaker a clean look and removes without leaving visible mounting holes.
