Two Converters Per Channel, Nothing Shared

Most converters give each channel a share of one chip. The DAC-Z10 does not. EverSolo pairs an AKM AK4191 with an AK4499 for the left channel, then does it again for the right, on discrete isolated boards. Left and right never meet until your speakers.

The input list is unusually long. USB-B and HDMI I2S both reach DSD512 and PCM 768kHz/32-bit. AES/EBU, two coaxial and two optical inputs each take 192kHz/24-bit and DSD64 over DoP, and HDMI ARC brings your television in.

A fully balanced preamplifier sits after the conversion, with XLR and RCA analog inputs of its own and up to 10dB of gain. So a turntable stage or a tuner can join the digital sources and use the same volume control.

What the Dual-Mono Layout Buys You

The balanced outputs measure 0.00008% THD+N at 1kHz with a 130dB signal-to-noise ratio, 130dB of dynamic range and 130dB of crosstalk separation. Single-ended RCA follows at 0.000097% and 128dB. Output is 5Vrms balanced and 2.5Vrms unbalanced.

The 6.35mm headphone output runs three gain modes rather than one compromise. High gain delivers 1 watt into both 16 and 32 ohms at 7Vrms, measuring 0.00013% THD+N. Impedance is detected automatically, so gain follows whatever you plug in.

An 8.8-inch IPS touchscreen fills the front, with electromagnetic shielding behind it and a choice of VU meters, spectrum analyzer or track information. The aluminum chassis measures 265 by 310 by 78mm and draws 32 watts.

How Does It Connect to Your System?

Run the balanced XLR outputs to a power amplifier or active speakers, or the RCA pair if your amplifier is single-ended. Because the preamplifier and volume control are on board, you can go straight in and leave a preamplifier out.

A computer or streamer connects over USB-B or HDMI I2S for the highest rates. A disc player takes coaxial, optical or AES/EBU, a television uses HDMI ARC, and a phone pairs over Bluetooth. Headphones go in the 6.35mm socket on the front.
