The A6, With Four Things Made Better
The EverSolo DMP-A6 Master Edition Gen 2 is a streamer, a converter and a digital preamp in one small case. It shares its case, its chips, its streaming platform and its power supply with the plain Gen 2, which costs less. What you pay more for is inside.
Four things change. First the clocks: a pair of Accusilicon parts, one for the 44.1kHz family and one for 48kHz. Lower jitter is the point. You hear it as a steadier stereo image, not as extra detail.
The Other Three
Then the output stage, which uses OPA1612 op-amps, the same parts EverSolo puts in the dearer DMP-A8. The screen grows to six inches. The volume knob gains a light ring you can set to any color, and the logo is picked out in gold.
Two Converter Chips, One per Channel
Most streamers run one chip for both channels. This one runs two ESS ES9038Q2M converters, one per channel, balanced end to end, fed by an XMOS XU316 processor. PCM plays up to 32 bits and 768kHz, DSD up to DSD512, and MQA is decoded in hardware.
The numbers off the balanced outputs are strong. Output is 5.2 volts, dynamic range better than 128dB, and distortion plus noise below 0.000087%. The single-ended output gives 2.6 volts with dynamic range past 125dB.
A Linear Supply, and Isolated Inputs
Power comes from a linear supply with noise held under 40 microvolts, which is rare at this price. Each digital input is isolated as well, so hash riding in on a source never reaches the path the music takes.
For streaming it is Roon Ready, with Tidal Connect and DLNA, over wired Ethernet or dual-band Wi-Fi. Digital inputs cover USB-B, coaxial, optical and HDMI ARC. There are matching outputs too, if you would rather use a converter of your own.
What Reviewers Are Saying
Eric Teh gave the Master Edition Gen 2 an Applause Award in StereoNET, calling it "a wallet-friendly streamer that ticks all the right boxes" and noting that against EverSolo's dearer models "it sacrifices surprisingly little."
On the converter question he was direct. "It sounds surprisingly enjoyable through its internal digital converter chips," he wrote, "but it's even better through a good external DAC."
Who Is This Streamer Best For?
- You want the A6 platform with better parts inside — the clocks and the output stage are the two things that change what you hear, and both are upgraded here.
- You already use Roon or Tidal — Roon Ready certification and Tidal Connect mean you keep the app you know, and the box just appears on the network.
- You may add a better converter later — USB, coaxial and optical outputs let the Master Edition work as a pure transport, so it stays useful as the system grows.
- You look at your rack — a six-inch screen, an RGB light ring around the volume knob and a gold logo make it worth having out rather than hidden away.
- The Master Edition is a digital source — every input on it is digital, so a turntable or tuner needs its own way into the system. An integrated amplifier alongside it covers the analog side and drives your speakers.
How Does It Connect to Your System?
Join it to the network over Gigabit Ethernet or dual-band Wi-Fi, or send to it over Bluetooth 5.0. Digital sources connect on USB-B, coaxial, optical or HDMI ARC, and each of those inputs is electrically isolated from the rest.
Analog outputs are balanced XLR at 5.2 volts and single-ended RCA at 2.6 volts, both live at once. Digital outputs on USB-A, coaxial, optical and HDMI feed an outboard converter or a receiver, and there is a trigger output as well.

Frequently Asked Questions
What is different from the standard DMP-A6 Gen 2?
Accusilicon femtosecond clocks, OPA1612 op-amps, a six-inch touchscreen, and the RGB light ring around the volume knob.
What resolution does it handle?
PCM up to 32 bits and 768kHz over USB, native DSD up to DSD512, and full hardware MQA decoding.
Is a remote control included?
The touchscreen and the EverSolo app are the everyday controls. A physical remote is sold separately if you would rather have one.
Can I use it with my own DAC?
Yes. USB-A, coaxial, optical and HDMI digital outputs let it work as a pure streaming transport.
Which streaming platforms are supported?
Roon Ready, Tidal Connect and DLNA, plus the EverSolo app for the major services.
How big is it?
A compact case weighing 4.7kg, about 10.4 pounds, finished in black or silver.
