The Play CD Edition is EverSolo's all-in-one streaming amplifier with a disc drive added. A Hitachi-LG optical assembly sits behind a tray on the top left, mounted in a vibration-dampening chassis. It plays CDs and rips them to 32GB of onboard storage.

The published figures are strong for a box this small. Distortion measures 0.0037% at 5 watts and 1kHz. Signal-to-noise runs above 109dB, crosstalk reaches minus 108dB, and frequency response holds 20Hz to 20kHz within 0.25dB.

Fix the Room Before You Blame the Speakers

The 5.5-inch touchscreen carries 24 EQ presets, a 10-band graphic EQ, and a 10-band parametric EQ. Automatic room correction runs from your phone's microphone. It is a genuine first pass, though not the equal of Dirac or Anthem, and reviewers have said so plainly in print.

Turntables connect to the MM/MC phono input with its own ground screw. HDMI ARC takes television audio. There is an RCA pre-out pair, a subwoofer output with crossover, level and phase control, and a USB digital output for an outboard DAC.

Rogier van Bakel reviewed the Play CD Edition for Stereophile on January 2, 2026. He wrote that "it won me over in minutes" and could not "fault the Play on any serious metric." He called the CD ripper "a delight" and the chassis "pleasantly substantial, with no wobble."

AJ Wykes reviewed the CD-less version of the same amplifier for SoundStage! Simplifi on September 1, 2025. He called it "a compelling streaming integrated amplifier offering connectivity, sound quality, and user control."

Both had reservations. Van Bakel missed a headphone jack, calling its absence "an odd oversight," found the disc tray "springy and a little hesitant," and noted there is no remote in the box. Wykes hit "some minor glitches" and felt the software lags the hardware.
