What Is the Focal Omada N°4?
A floorstanding speaker (sometimes called a tower speaker) is a full-size speaker that sits directly on the floor. Floorstanding speakers can move more air than bookshelf models, which means deeper bass, greater dynamics, and more effortless sound at higher volumes. The Focal Omada N°4 is the flagship of Focal’s Omada series. It’s a 3-way design, meaning it uses separate drivers for bass, midrange, and treble—each one optimized for its part of the frequency range. The N°4 sits between Focal’s entry-level Theva and mid-range Vestia collections, bringing technologies from Focal’s more expensive speaker families to a more approachable price. Like every speaker in the Omada line, it’s designed and built entirely in Focal’s own workshops in Saint-Étienne, France.
What Makes It Special?
The N°4 uses two 8.25-inch (21 cm) Slatefiber woofers for bass. That’s a lot of driver area, and it shows: the speaker reaches down to 34 Hz at the –6 dB point, which means deep, powerful bass without needing a subwoofer in most music-listening situations. Slatefiber is Focal’s proprietary cone material—made from recycled carbon fibers sandwiched between thermoplastic polymer layers. Focal recommends amplifiers delivering between 40 and 350 watts per channel into 8 ohms. With 92 dB sensitivity, the N°4 is very easy to drive. Even a mid-range integrated amplifier or AV receiver will make these speakers sing. More powerful amplification lets you take full advantage of their dynamic range.
