The IsoAcoustics OREA Indigo is sold singly. Each puck is rated for 16 pounds. Three or four carry an integrated amp, a stereo receiver, a larger turntable or a tube preamp weighing between roughly 24 and 64 pounds.

Vibration is part of every listening room. Speaker energy, footfall and transformer hum pass through the floor and the shelf and enter the chassis through its feet. IsoAcoustics designs the OREA to soak up that energy inside the puck rather than pass it upward.

Each Indigo carries up to 16 pounds. IsoAcoustics says to use at least three under a component, and three or four is typical. Three carry 48 pounds and four carry 64. No minimum is published. A puck carrying far less than its rating never settles into its working range, so a 15-pound CD player belongs on the Bronze.

The housing is machined stainless steel with an indigo ring on the lower isolator. Each puck is 2.3 inches across and 1.3 inches tall. It adds about an inch and a quarter under an amp, so allow for that on a shelf that is already close.

How Do You Set Them Up?

Place three or four pucks where the chassis will bear on them, two in front and one behind, or one per corner for a wide amp. Lower the component and press so each flange seats. Re-level a turntable once loaded. Under electronics the logo may face any direction. Set them down, set the gear on top, and play.
