Three Channels of 400 Watts Instead, If You Prefer

A switch puts each pair of channels into Bridge-Tied Load mode. Do that across the amplifier and six channels of 200 watts become three of 400 watts. It is a sensible way to give the front three speakers everything the box has.

Marantz Put Its Own Circuit in Front of the Class D Stage

The amplifier module is Marantz’s own design. It is fed by the company’s HDAM circuitry and a shielded transformer. Each of the six channels takes a balanced XLR or an unbalanced RCA input, picked on a selector switch.

Bi-amp mode drives the high and low sections of a speaker separately. That suits speakers with two sets of terminals. On the front, a softly lit level meter sits in the porthole, and sidelights wash the panel.

Built to Be Controlled, Not Just Switched On

Around the back sit RS232, an IR flasher input, the Marantz Remote Bus and a DC trigger in and out. Draw is 300 watts in use. Standby is 0.2 watts. The chassis measures 17.4 inches square.
