Three Speakers. One Slim Bar.
The MartinLogan Motion SLM X3 is not one speaker. It is three. The left, center, and right channels all live in one slim bar. Each one gets its own tweeter and its own woofers.
The tweeters are thin-film Folded Motion drivers. They come from the same design work behind MartinLogan's big flat-panel speakers. They start and stop fast, so voices and detail stay clean. Six 4-inch fiber-cone woofers fill in below them.
This bar is passive. That means your receiver powers it. Most sound bars have small amps built in, so you are stuck with what you get. Not here. Buy a better receiver later and this bar will sound better too.
It is 48 inches wide and just 1.45 inches thin. That suits a 50-inch TV or larger. On the wall it sticks out less than 2 inches with the bracket and grille. Or set it on a shelf with the feet in the box. Add a subwoofer for deep bass and your whole front stage is done.
