The MartinLogan Motion XTC8 puts the brand's signature thin-film sound in your ceiling. Its Folded Motion XT tweeter—a larger version of the famous FMT, with a 4.5" x 2.75" pleated diaphragm—delivers the clarity, output, and controlled 30° x 80° dispersion that separate MartinLogan from ordinary dome-tweeter in-ceilings. Below it, an 8-inch woven Kevlar woofer with a resonance-killing Nomex backing layer and cast-aluminum basket digs to 51Hz with genuine authority.

The crossover is no afterthought either: custom air-core inductors and polypropylene film capacitors, with thermal protection for the tweeter. A substantial chassis stiffens the whole assembly—the in-ceiling equivalent of a better cabinet—and the ultra-low-profile, paintable micro-perf grille has no visible bezel, projecting just a third of an inch. At 91dB sensitivity it plays effortlessly with amplifiers from 50 to 300 watts.
