Dolby Atmos adds a layer of sound above you. Rain falling overhead, a helicopter crossing the room, a voice from the balcony — the mixer places those sounds in space rather than in a channel.

The usual way to get that layer is in-ceiling speakers, which means cutting holes and running wire through joists. The Silver AMS 7G does it differently. It fires upward, bounces sound off your ceiling, and the reflection arrives at your seat from above. No holes, no drywall dust.

C-CAM Drivers From the Silver Series

Each speaker carries a 1-inch C-CAM Gold Dome tweeter with an optimized waveguide, plus a 5¼-inch C-CAM mid-bass driver built with Monitor Audio's Rigid Surface Technology II.

C-CAM stands for ceramic-coated aluminum magnesium — a stiff, light cone material Monitor Audio developed from aerospace work. RST II adds a dimpled surface pattern that stiffens the cone further. Stiffer cones flex less as they move, which keeps detail intact.

Built to Sit on Top of a Silver 300 7G

The cabinet is shaped and sized to match the top of a Silver 300 7G tower. Set one on each, and the grilles line up so the pair reads as a single speaker rather than a box perched on another box.

They are also voice-matched to the Silver Series, so the height layer sounds like it belongs with your front speakers instead of arriving from a different system.

Is This Right for You?

Three things to confirm before ordering:

• Your receiver needs Atmos height channels. These connect to the height outputs on a Dolby Atmos capable receiver or processor. Without those channels there is nothing to drive them.
• Check your ceiling. Reflected height effects need a flat, reflective ceiling roughly 8 to 14 feet high. Vaulted, sloped, heavily beamed, or acoustically treated ceilings scatter the reflection and weaken the effect.
• Measure the speaker you plan to stand them on. As toppers they need a top surface of at least 7⅜ inches wide by 12⁵⁄₁₆ inches deep. They fit the Silver 300 7G exactly, and work on many other towers that meet those dimensions.

Setup & Installation

Place one on top of each front speaker, or wall mount them using the keyhole mounts already built into the cabinets. Connect each to a height channel output on your receiver, keeping red to red and black to black.

Then run your receiver's room calibration. Reflected height speakers depend heavily on distance and level settings being right, and calibration is what tells the receiver how long the bounce off your ceiling actually takes. Skipping it is the most common reason people find the effect underwhelming.

Do I need two of these or four?
Two gives you a front height pair, which covers most Atmos soundtracks well. Four — front and rear — places overhead effects more precisely and is worth it in a dedicated theater room. Start with two; you can add a second pair later.

Do I have to own Silver 300 7G towers?
No. They are shaped to match those, but they work on any speaker with a large enough top surface, and they wall mount as well. The visual match is the bonus, not the requirement.

In-ceiling speakers fire straight down and do not depend on your ceiling's shape or surface. These need no construction work and can move with you.
