This is Music Hall's own replacement drive belt, sold each, one belt per turntable. It covers the MMF-2.1, MMF-2.2 and MMF-2.3, and the MMF-5, MMF-5.1 and MMF-5.3 — six models across two families that share a drive layout.

Belts are the wear item. The rubber hardens on the pulley and on the shelf alike, and a hardened belt holds speed less well and passes more motor noise to the platter. Replacing one costs little and takes five minutes.

It fits the MMF-2.1, MMF-2.2, MMF-2.3, MMF-5, MMF-5.1 and MMF-5.3. This is the OEM belt from Music Hall, cut to the length and section those decks were designed around rather than approximated from a generic size.

The MMF-1 and MMF-7 families use different belts, so check the number on your plinth before ordering. If you are unsure, the belt you are taking off is the reference: compare it against the new one before the platter goes back on.

How Do You Fit It?

Lift the platter off — on most decks it lifts straight up, sometimes with a sub-platter under it. Slip the old belt off the motor pulley and the sub-platter, and wipe both with a clean, dry cloth. Loop the new belt around the sub-platter, then over the pulley, keeping it flat and untwisted. Refit the platter and spin it by hand before switching on.
