The Music Hall Belt for the MMF-7 and MMF-9 Families

This is Music Hall's own replacement drive belt, sold each, one belt per turntable. It fits the MMF-7 and MMF-7.3, and the MMF-9, MMF-9.1 and MMF-9.3 — Music Hall's upper models, which share a drive layout and therefore a belt.

On a turntable at this level the rest of the deck is good enough that the belt becomes the limit. A stretched or hardened belt costs speed stability first and passes more motor noise second, and neither is obvious until a fresh one goes on.

It fits the MMF-7, MMF-7.3, MMF-9, MMF-9.1 and MMF-9.3. This is the OEM part from Music Hall, made to the length and cross-section those turntables were designed around — both of which are manufacturing properties a generic belt will not match.

The MMF-1, MMF-2 and MMF-5 families take a different belt. Check the model number on your plinth before ordering, and keep the old belt until the new one is on and running so you have something to compare against.

How Do You Fit It?

Lift the platter off — on most decks it lifts straight up, sometimes with a sub-platter under it. Slip the old belt off the motor pulley and the sub-platter, and wipe both with a clean, dry cloth. Loop the new belt around the sub-platter, then over the pulley, keeping it flat and untwisted. Refit the platter and spin it by hand before switching on.
