Add High-Resolution USB Audio to Compatible NAD Components

The NAD MDC USB DSD module adds an asynchronous USB Audio 2 input to selected NAD amplifiers and preamplifiers. Connect a computer directly to the module and use the host component’s audio circuitry instead of the computer’s built-in DAC and analog output.

PCM and DSD Playback

The module accepts PCM audio up to 24-bit/192 kHz and DSD files up to DSD256. DSD is converted internally to 24-bit/192 kHz PCM for playback; this is not a native-DSD signal path. It can be used with local music files or audio from computer-based streaming applications.

Compatibility and Computer Setup

NAD lists the M33, M32, M12, C 388, C 368, and C 658 as compatible models. Windows computers require NAD’s USB audio driver and Windows 7 or later. Compatible macOS versions include USB Audio 2 support without a separate NAD driver. Installation requires access to the host component’s MDC bay; follow NAD’s instructions and update the component firmware where required.
