A Serious Step Up for Your Vinyl System
The Pro-Ject Debut EVO 2 combines easy operation, proven engineering, and a useful upgrade path. Handmade in the EU, it is a strong first serious turntable or a meaningful step beyond an entry-level record player.
The Pick it MM EVO cartridge comes mounted and aligned. A dust cover, felt mat, Connect it Phono E cable, and 7-inch adapter are also included.
Stable Playback from the Tonearm to the Platter
The 8.6-inch one-piece carbon tonearm combines low weight with high rigidity. Its CNC-milled aluminum bearing block supports smooth movement, while adaptive anti-skating changes compensation as the stylus crosses the record.
The precision-balanced 3.75-lb aluminum platter uses an internal TPE ring to control unwanted resonance. Its anti-magnetic construction also accommodates a future moving-coil cartridge.
A Cartridge Chosen for the EVO 2
Developed by Pro-Ject with Ortofon, the Pick it MM EVO uses an elliptical, replaceable stylus and split-pole-pin construction. Its 7 mV output suits a standard moving-magnet phono input.
Simple Speed Control with an Upgrade Path
Electronic control selects 33 or 45 rpm without moving the belt. The suspended motor and internal DC/AC generator are designed for stable, low-vibration operation.
Gold-plated RCA outputs accept cable upgrades. True Balanced use requires a compatible cartridge, Pro-Ject balanced cable, and balanced phono preamp, all sold separately.
Is the Pro-Ject Debut EVO 2 Right for You?
- A strong first serious turntable: Choose it for manual belt drive with a quality cartridge already mounted.
- Phono input required: Use an MM phono input or add an external MM phono preamp.
- Room to upgrade: Replaceable cables, an anti-magnetic platter, and an optional balanced path support future changes.
- Manual analog operation: It has no automatic return, Bluetooth, USB, or built-in phono stage.
Setup, Compatibility & What's Included
On a rigid, level surface, install the platter and belt, balance the arm, set tracking force to 1.8 g, and set anti-skating as directed. Three adjustable feet aid final leveling.
Connect the included cable and ground lead to an MM phono input, with the yellow-marked end at the receiver. An AUX or CD input requires an external MM phono preamp.
