Easy System Matching, Built In
The T1 EVO Phono makes it easy to add real hi-fi vinyl playback to almost any system. A built-in, switchable phono preamp lets you connect straight to a standard line-level input on an amp, receiver, or powered speaker, or bypass it entirely for a separate phono preamp or an amp's own MM input.
It ships with a factory-mounted Ortofon OM 10 cartridge, a heavy glass platter, and an 8.6-inch aluminum tonearm, with electronic speed control for effortless, easy switching between 33 and 45rpm right at the front.
There's no Bluetooth here — just a wired RCA connection that adapts to whatever phono input situation your particular system already happens to have on hand right now, without any wireless option at all.
One Switch, Two Ways to Connect
A Switchable Phono Preamp Built In
A switch on the back selects phono-level or line-level output. Set to line, the built-in stage does the work and the deck plugs into any standard analog input, including a powered speaker's RCA input.
Set to phono instead, and the raw cartridge signal goes out unamplified, ready for an outboard phono preamp or an amp's own MM phono input to handle it instead of the built-in stage.
The Same Tonearm and Cartridge as the Rest of the Line
The 8.6-inch one-piece aluminum tonearm and the factory-mounted Ortofon OM 10 cartridge carry over directly from the standard T1 EVO, with tracking force already set correctly before it ever leaves the factory.
Beneath the platter, a stainless-steel main bearing shaft in a brass bushing keeps rotation smooth, and the 8mm blasted-glass platter gives every record a flat, stable surface to spin on quietly.
What Reviewers Are Saying
Reviewing the T1 EVO Phono for AVForums, Ed Selley praised its "lovely industrial design and excellent hassle free performance," a verdict that echoes the wider EVO family's Hi-Fi Choice "Recommended" honors.
Who Is the T1 EVO Phono Best For?
- Your amp or receiver has no phono input — the switchable phono preamp handles that right out of the box
- You want to connect straight to powered speakers — the line-level output works with any analog RCA input
- You want a cartridge already installed and adjusted — the Ortofon OM 10 arrives factory-mounted, tracking force included
- You want push-button speed change — 33 and 45rpm switch electronically, with no belt to move by hand
- You want Bluetooth as well — the T1 EVO BT adds a wireless transmitter alongside the same switchable phono preamp
How Does It Connect to Your System?
With the switch set to line, connect the included RCA cable straight into any standard analog input on an amp, receiver, or powered speaker — no separate phono stage required.
Set the switch to phono instead when you're using an outboard phono preamp or an amp with its own MM phono input, so the cartridge signal reaches it unamplified.
Pairs Well With
Where the T1 EVO Phono goes from here:
- Powered speakers — the built-in phono preamp connects directly, no separate phono stage needed
- Integrated amplifiers — many include a phono input, letting you skip the built-in preamp entirely
- Audio racks — a rigid, level shelf gives the glass platter a stable foundation
- Record cleaning accessories — clean records sound better and protect the stylus
Frequently Asked Questions
Do I need a separate phono preamp?
You don't. The T1 EVO Phono has one built in, switchable off if your amp has an MM phono input or you'd rather use a separate phono stage.
Can I connect it directly to powered speakers?
Yes. Switch the turntable to line-level output and connect it to powered speakers with a compatible analog RCA input.
Does the T1 EVO Phono include Bluetooth?
It doesn't. This model uses a wired RCA connection only; choose the T1 EVO BT if you need a built-in Bluetooth transmitter.
Is the cartridge already installed?
Yes. The Ortofon OM 10 cartridge is mounted and adjusted at the factory; you'll still need to complete the basic assembly in the supplied instructions.
Does the tonearm return automatically?
It doesn't. The T1 EVO Phono is fully manual, so you lower the stylus at the start of a record and return the tonearm once it's done.
What's the warranty?
A two-year limited manufacturer warranty covers the T1 EVO Phono.
