Premium Vinyl Sound with a Built-In Phono Preamp
The Pro-Ject T2 Super Phono combines audiophile turntable design with the convenience of a high-quality built-in phono preamp. Its heavy glass platter, 9-inch aluminum tonearm, electronic speed control, and factory-aligned Sumiko Rainier cartridge create a complete vinyl source that is easy to add to almost any audio system.
The Walnut finish gives the T2 Super Phono a warm, classic appearance. Its clean European design works well in both traditional and modern rooms.
Premium Switchable MM Phono Preamp
The built-in phono preamp uses a dual-stage, split-passive circuit designed for accurate RIAA equalization, low noise, and strong musical detail. This is more advanced than the basic phono circuits found in many entry-level turntables.
Use the line-level output to connect directly to an amplifier, receiver, or powered speakers with a standard analog input. If your system already has a better phono stage, switch off the internal preamp and use the turntable’s phono-level output.
Sumiko Rainier Cartridge Included
The Sumiko Rainier moving magnet cartridge is installed and aligned at the factory. Its elliptical stylus delivers a warm, clear, and well-balanced sound with natural vocals and solid musical detail.
The Rainier is also easy to upgrade. You can install a Sumiko Olympia, Moonstone, or Wellfleet replacement stylus without replacing or realigning the complete cartridge.
Heavy Glass Platter
The T2 Super Phono uses a 10 mm-thick glass platter weighing 3.7 pounds. Its extra mass helps maintain steady rotation, while the low-resonance glass avoids the ringing that can come from lightweight metal platters.
A felt mat protects the record and provides a soft surface between the LP and platter.
Improved 9-Inch Aluminum Tonearm
The one-piece 9-inch aluminum tonearm provides improved cartridge geometry and lower tracking-angle error. Its integrated headshell creates a stiff structure with fewer joints where unwanted vibration can develop.
Low-friction tonearm bearings help the stylus follow the record groove accurately. The adjustable anti-skating system uses an internal spring instead of a hanging weight, making the design cleaner and easier to set up.
Electronic Speed Control
A switch on the turntable lets you select 33⅓ or 45 rpm electronically. There is no need to remove the platter or move the drive belt when changing speeds.
The electronically regulated motor drives a separate sub-platter. A stainless-steel spindle turns inside a brass bushing to support smooth and stable rotation.
Solid, Low-Resonance Plinth
The CNC-machined plinth contains no hollow spaces that can collect unwanted vibration. Vibration-absorbing feet help isolate the turntable from nearby speakers and the furniture supporting it.
Award-Winning Performance
- AnalogPlanet Gruvy Award – Best Budget Turntable of 2024.
- AVForums Highly Recommended – Praised for its quiet phono stage, excellent speed stability, spacious sound, and strong value.
AnalogPlanet praised the T2 Super Phono for combining the punch of a direct-drive turntable with the easy rhythmic flow of a belt-drive design.
System Compatibility
With its internal phono preamp switched on, the T2 Super Phono can connect to a standard RCA line input on an amplifier, receiver, or powered speakers. Switch the preamp off when connecting to an external phono preamp or a receiver’s phono input.
A shielded, low-capacitance RCA cable with a ground connection is included.
