A shim, sold singly, that raises the tonearm of a Pro-Ject Debut-series turntable by 1.5 mm. Debut arms carry no height adjustment of their own, so this is how vertical tracking angle gets corrected on a deck never built to allow it.

The reason you would want to is the mat. Fit a thicker platter or a cork mat and the record surface rises, tilting the cartridge nose-up relative to the groove — and on a fine stylus profile, that genuinely changes what the diamond is reading.
