What Is the REL PL-2 Grille?
This is a grille designed by REL Acoustics specifically for the Planar PL-2 on-wall subwoofer. This listing is for the grille only—the subwoofer is not included.
The REL Planar PL-2 is a brand-new ultra-slim subwoofer (just 5.7 inches deep) that mounts on your wall or sits close to it, delivering deep bass down to 27 Hz without taking up floor space. One of the Planar series’ standout design features is its interchangeable grilles, which let you quickly change the look of the subwoofer to suit your room.
Two Grille Styles: Blend In or Stand Out
REL designed the Planar series with two grille options that give you full control over how the subwoofer fits into your space.
The cloth grille blends quietly into the background. It covers the front of the subwoofer with a clean, understated fabric surface that’s color-matched to the cabinet. If you want the sub to visually disappear, this is the one. The cloth grille ships with the PL-2 subwoofer as standard.
The premium wood grille takes the opposite approach. Made from real walnut, it brings the Planar forward as a design feature in your room—giving it a warm, mid-century furniture aesthetic. Because it uses natural wood, each grille has its own unique grain pattern and color variation. The premium wood grille is an optional upgrade, sold separately.
Both grille types are designed to swap in seconds without tools. Simply remove one and attach the other.
