The motor controls run from their own supply. They are kept away from the audio circuits. The converter's digital and analog sections are split the same way, so noise made in one place has no easy route into another.

Conversion is handled by a premium Texas Instruments 32-bit converter, rated to 384kHz. After it sit custom-tuned analog output filters. Those filters are Rotel's own work rather than a reference design taken off the shelf.

What the Isolation Buys

Outputs are analog RCA at 100 ohms. There is a coaxial digital output as well, so the CD14MKII can also serve as a transport for a DAC. A 12-volt trigger input lets it switch on with the rest of a Rotel system.
