A Streamer, DAC and Music Library in One Box
The Silent Angel H1 is a network music streamer with a built-in DAC and a 5.5-inch display. It plays streaming services, internet radio and your own music files from one compact aluminum chassis.
Balanced XLR and single-ended RCA outputs connect it to your amplifier. It also works as a USB DAC for your computer or phone. You control everything from the VitOS Orbiter app on your phone or tablet.
Dual ESS DACs and a Quiet Power Supply
Two ESS ES9039Q2M DAC chips handle conversion. Silent Angel rates the XLR output at 129 dB signal-to-noise, with THD+N below 0.00008% at 1 kHz. Four independent power rails keep the playback board, DAC and op-amp circuits from interfering with each other.
An XMOS XU316 processor handles USB audio, with dual oscillators for the 44.1 kHz and 48 kHz sample-rate families. Six Silent Angel Kmuse op-amps and two OPA1612 op-amps make up the analog stage.
Streaming and Local Playback
The H1 supports AirPlay 2, Spotify Connect, TIDAL Connect, DLNA and internet radio. It also plays files from a NAS, from USB drives, or from an SSD fitted in its internal M.2 NVMe slot.
It scans your files to build a library you can browse by album. CUE album files are split into individual tracks automatically. Local files play at up to PCM 768 kHz/32-bit and DSD256.
A Display Without a Touchscreen
The 5.5-inch screen shows album covers, lyrics and track details in landscape view. Silent Angel left out touch control to keep the internal circuitry quiet. You browse and choose music in the app instead.
Where the H1 Fits in Your System
The H1 is a digital source for your hi-fi. Its XLR (4.5 Vrms) or RCA (2.5 Vrms) outputs connect to an integrated amplifier or preamp. Its USB-B input takes audio from a computer or phone at up to PCM 768 kHz/32-bit and native DSD512.
You can also bypass its DAC. USB audio outputs and an optical output feed an external DAC, at up to 768 kHz over USB and 192 kHz over optical.
Silent Angel's spec sheet lists no headphone output, HDMI, analog inputs, Bluetooth or Roon Ready support. If you need any of these, call us at 800-942-0220 and we'll help you choose.
Who Is This Streamer Best For?
- Listeners who want one compact source — Streaming, local files and a DAC share one box and one app.
- Owners of a NAS or large file library — It reads NAS shares, USB drives and an internal NVMe SSD.
- Computer listeners — The USB-B input turns it into a high-resolution DAC for your computer.
- Systems with balanced inputs — A 4.5 Vrms XLR output sits alongside the 2.5 Vrms RCA output.
- Not for Roon or headphone listening — Silent Angel lists no Roon Ready support and no headphone output.
How Does It Connect to Your System?
- Network: plug in Ethernet, or join your dual-band Wi-Fi 6 network.
- Amplifier: run XLR or RCA cables to a line-level input on your amp or preamp.

- Computer: connect to the USB-B input to use the H1 as a USB DAC. Silent Angel lists Windows 7–11, macOS, Android, iOS and HarmonyOS.
- Control: install the VitOS Orbiter app on an iOS or Android phone or tablet.
The H1 comes in Black and runs on AC 110–120 V or 220–240 V.
