The Wider Sonic Saucer for Cone Feet and Heavy Stands

Sonic Saucers are our own machined brass isolation discs, sold as a set of four. The Extra Large disc is 1.5 inches (38 millimeters) across and about a quarter inch tall, with a center indentation that takes the point of a spike or cone foot. Each disc carries up to 100 pounds.

A spike or cone foot drives the weight of a rack, stand or speaker into one point, which dents wood and chips tile. The saucer's smooth machined base spreads that load, and the solid brass gives the spike a rigid place to land.

Each Sonic Saucer is machined from solid brass, 1.5 inches across, and rated for 100 pounds, so four carry 400 pounds under a rack, stand or speaker. The indentation locates a spike or cone foot. This listing is black chrome; a brass finish is also made. The Large saucer, 1 inch across, is the other size, for narrower spikes and lighter stands.

How Do You Fit Them?

Lift or tilt the rack, stand or component so each spike or cone foot clears the surface. Set a saucer under it, indentation up, and lower the point into the dimple. Repeat at each foot, then adjust the spikes until everything sits level and does not rock.

How many do I need?

One per spike or cone foot. The set of four covers a four-spike rack, speaker stand or component. A three-footed component uses three and leaves a spare.

Which size do I need?

The Large saucer is 1 inch across and the Extra Large 1.5 inches. Both are rated 100 pounds a disc. Choose the Extra Large for a wide cone foot or where a spike may land off center.

Do they go under components too?

Yes. Set one between each cone-point foot and the rack shelf. The brass takes the point and protects the shelf, and the component sits level on the four discs.
