Vibrapod Isolators are sold as a set of four. Model 4 is the version for a heavy amp, turntable or large speaker. Each pod is made for 14 to 18 pounds, so four carry a component of 56 to 72 pounds with the load spread evenly.

A component's stock feet pass shelf vibration straight into its chassis. Vibrapod makes the Isolators to work in both the vertical and horizontal planes. The component rides on the vinyl pods instead of the shelf.

Each Model 4 pod is rated for 14 to 18 pounds and works best at 16. A set of four suits a component of 56 to 72 pounds, with 64 pounds ideal. A heavier unit takes more pods or a stiffer model. A pod loaded far under its range never reaches its working stiffness.

Every Vibrapod is 9/16 inch tall and 2 7/16 inches across, molded in vinyl. Vibrapod rates them for 50 to 100 degrees. The pods can leave rings on wood, acrylic or paint and can soften lacquer. Vibrapod advises a bar coaster or playing card under each one.

Model 4 is one of five Vibrapod models, and the only difference between them is stiffness. A lighter component belongs on the Model 3, made for 8 to 12 pounds a pod. Vibrapod says to match the model to the weight of each component. When a Cone sits on top, the Isolator's rating sets the load.

Which Vibrapod model do I need?

Divide the component's weight by the number of pods you will use. If the answer falls between 14 and 18 pounds, Model 4 is the one. Vibrapod publishes the same table for all five models.

Do the pods go under the stock feet or replace them?

Vibrapod places them under the chassis itself, around the edges, with the stock feet lifted clear. If the feet cannot be removed and are shorter than 9/16 inch, the pods can sit beside them.

Can I add the Vibrapod Cones?

Yes. The Vibrapod Cone is made to sit on top of an Isolator. When you stack them, Vibrapod says to size the pair by the Isolator's weight rating, not the Cone's.
