This is VPI's 45 RPM record adapter, sold each. It is not a turntable accessory: it fits over the spindle of a VPI record cleaning machine so that 7-inch singles can be cleaned, and it threads down to hold the record while the vacuum arm passes.

A cleaning machine holds a record by clamping it to the platter, and a 7-inch single has a hole far too large for the spindle to locate. Without an adapter the record floats loose, which is no good at all under a vacuum arm.
