A 20-pound platter machined from 6061 aluminum sits on an inverted bearing built for long-term speed stability, all braced by that aluminum top plate tying the tonearm mount, motor opening, and bearing to a shared structural foundation.

The Prime 21 is fully manual, with no built-in phono preamp and no electronic speed control at all, so it needs a separate phono stage and a belt move between 33⅓ and 45 rpm.

A Braced Chassis, Without Changing the Silhouette

The machined aluminum top plate reinforces the Prime's familiar sculpted MDF chassis around the platter bearing, tonearm mount, and motor opening, the three places where flex costs the most in tracking accuracy.

That extra rigidity keeps the tonearm's geometry stable relative to the platter even as the stylus rides through a warped or off-center pressing, rather than letting the chassis itself absorb and re-release that energy.
